You promised me forever
And yet I think forever doesn't exists
How could I?
If the person who said that isn't here
You said I'll be yours and you'll be mine
I'll be your Juliet and you'll be my Romeo
I'll be your princess and you'll be my prince
Like a fairytale it sounded so perfect, you and I
Yes, just you and I
Like any other fairytale I expected my "happily ever after"
But I was wrong
Because fairytales are merely fantasies
Fantasies like you and I spending that forever with each other
Didn't you hear me calling out to you?
Telling you to stay
But you just shrugged my feelings and never looked back
What about that promise?
A promise of forever, a promise that you'll never leave me
"I'll never leave you, I love you!"
Every night you recited those words to me
Gullible as I am, I believed them
Days, weeks, months pass you left without a trace
No texts, emails or even calls from you
Even a simple "Hi!" or "How are you?"
Like a transient being you come and go as you please
More days pass I grew more and more anxious
Anxious to see you, to be near you
Even just for a moment, even just a second
I swallowed ever pride I had and stood before you
I couldn't see any ounce of happiness on your face
I thought you'd be happy to see me
To see the girl you were to spend your forever with
I asked you if I could still spend that forever with you
Before you could answer she placed herself by your side
She asked you who I was
"Just a friend."
You simply said and gave me a sympathetic smile
I felt tears forming and held them back
Not now, I thought
Not in front of him
You said goodbye and walked away holding her hand
Holding hers' and not mine
I felt tears flowing, I wiped them off
"Goodbye my prince, I hope you'll be happy with your princess!"
I turned my back and walked away
Away from you, away from my forever
