Thousands of years ago there was a war that raged across the galaxy. It ravaged civilizations and many of the Milky Way's species went extinct. This was the war between Angels and Demons.

The Angels were a warrior race of beings whose sole purpose was the defense of the many species that called the Milky Way home. They were led by four Archangels, Lucifer, Mikael, Gabrielle, and Raphael. With their knowledge of the universe they were able to unlock the power of immortality, and manipulate gravity to their will.

Known to the Angels as Gravii the Archangels have destroyed many opponents with its use. Mikael is the strongest Gravii manipulator the galaxy has ever seen. He can drain suns and destroy planets just by the flick of his wrist. The four Archangels all stood taller than the other Angels and have piercing blue eyes.

When looking into the eyes of an Archangel it is almost as if you're staring into the heart of the universe. No one knows where the Archangels learned their knowledge or how they became so powerful, but the galaxy was grateful for them and their sacrifice. The Demons were monsters created by Lucifer himself. Half machine and half organic they lacked any emotion and followed orders without question.

They are a grotesque species with piercing red eyes. No one Demon looked the same but they all have the same purpose- to destroy everything the Angels love. It was not Lucifer's intent to create such a horrid species. He was attempting to create a species that may one day take up the role of protectors of the galaxy. He mixed machine and organic to try and create an indestructible species, but when the first one awoke from its sleep he knew right away his creation had to be destroyed.

He had the whole system purged of any laboratories and experiments and the Demons were forgotten. Six hundred years after the purge Gabrielle stumbled upon Lucifer's old research notes and confronted him. They argued for hours about his decision to purge the system. Lucifer was justifying what he did and Gabrielle was arguing the militaristic advantages they could have had. It ended when Gabrielle stormed out swearing that he made a big mistake. She searched the galaxy for the remnants of the purged system and discovered that it was being rebuilt by the Demons themselves.

She confronted their leader Daemon who was also the first Demon created. She spent much time with them learning their culture, their beliefs, and how they work eventually she was named their new leader. Gabrielle and the Demons kidnapped Lucifer and kept him in a prison made out of the remnants of his old laboratory. Gabrielle was able to make the others believe it was Lucifer behind the attack on Haven and the other star systems. Mikael declared war on the Demons and swore to find Lucifer, but the Archangels were greatly outnumbered.

System after system fell to the Demons and some of the greatest species known to the galaxy went extinct. The Insectids were the first to go, an insect species from the Horsehead Nebula they were the best scientists and doctors known to the galaxy and saved Raphael's life when the Demons injected her with a mortality serum. The Venerians a warrior race like the angels were destroyed protecting the Insectids during one of the last battles of the war.

Then there were The Rexicons, a fierce reptile race from the planet Terracroix. They were the only ones who managed to push the Demons back long enough for the Angels to develop a strategy, but still they failed and their planet was set ablaze. After discovering Lucifer's location and Gabrielle's true intent, Mikael was furious. In a fit of rage he banished Lucifer and stripped him of his Archangel status and sent him to the furthest reaches of the galaxy never to be seen again.

As a final attempt to stop the Demons he saw only one option, he drew the Demon race to the Orion sector to the binary star system of Mintaka where Haven was located. Also located there was Mintaka Station, the first artificial planet created by the Angels from an asteroid, it was located in Mintaka's asteroid belt not far from Haven itself. In a last ditch effort he and his ship The Atlantis stormed the Mintaka System.

He gave control of The Atlantis over to Raphael, Zachriel, and Gideon and entered the artificial planet on his own. The Atlantis was a flying fortress and a mobile city. It was able to hold off the Demon fleet single handedly long enough for Mikael to do what needed to be done. The purpose of Mintaka Station was to keep Mintaka's stars in a stasis to prevent them from going Supernova. For millions of years Mintaka Station kept the stars stable but Mikael was going to use it as a weapon.

He released the safe guards and linked all the Stars in the Orion system to Mintaka. Every star in Orion was going to go Supernova destroying the Demons and the Angels ending the war once and for all. Some Demons made it past The Atlantis including Gabrielle landing at Mintaka Station. Just as Mintaka was about to go Supernova the demons stopped the process and most of Orion's stars only increased in mass enough to become blue giants instead, but the plan was still successful.

The sudden and rapid increase in gravity pulled planets, and ships into a fiery death. If any ships were not pulled into any stars they were ripped apart by debris. The great civilization that the Angels were able to build and protect for so long fell in a blaze of fire. Gabrielle and Mikael were locked in a final confrontation on Mintaka Station. Mikael was exhausted from the battle and just before Mintaka station fell Gabrielle delivered the final blow severing his head from his body which is the only way to kill an Archangel.

Now the galaxy lies in ruin with the echoes of the dead. Planets that were once lush with life are now uninhabitable. Stars the bred life have forever been corrupted or destroyed. There was however one civilization that survived. Mikael's own creation that only Raphael and Lucifer knew about. A new form of life infused with the DNA of those three Archangels.

They were created to be completely organic something no one was able to accomplish before. The Human race started on Mars but was relocated to Earth for a more suitable and stable environment.

They were created in the image of The Archangels to become the new protectors of the galaxy, but now that The Angels were destroyed they are left to fend for themselves alone in the silent vacuum of the universe not ever realizing their true purpose or who their creators really were.
