AN: Hiya! So the exposition of the book is pretty much over, which means I can get into the real story now! Yay!!! And... I can totally get into describing Kyle's job now.... :) Enjoy!!!

Kyle's POV

All I could think when I watched Danielle stand up and storm away was the need to protect her. Lena had been even bitchier than usual, and I wanted nothing more than to reach over and smack the smug look off her face.

"What the hell Lena?" The words were on the tip of my tongue, but Andrei beat me to it. Looking at my younger cousin in surprise, I felt a slight twinge of fear. Andrei had taken a liking to Danielle, and I hoped that it wouldn't end up with him following her around like a lovesick puppy. Giving Lena one last venemous look, he followed Danielle right out of the resteraunt.

"Oh give it up Kyle." Lena spat at me, placing her hands on her hips. "If that is the best you can get to pose as your girlfriend, then you are in serious trouble. I'm following through with your Father's plan and bringing in my friend. You'll like Hannah, she's nothing like that... thing.. that you have with you." Taking a step closer to her, so that I looked down at her ferocious face, I made my voice as low as possible.

"Let me get one thing straight with you cousin. You can go to hell, and take good old Dad with you. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Danielle, and I will not allow you to dictate to me who I can and can not date. Don't even think about bringing your friend here, or so help me..." Unable to finish, I looked at Lena, and the determined look on her face.

"Acest lucru nu este de peste!" (This isn't over) Lena hissed, grabbing her coat and slipping into it. "Expect a call from me soon. And from your father." And then she left, just like that I was alone. Had Andrei found Danielle? Unable to move, I stood frozen in place, the realization of what I had just done crashing down on me.

I had told Danielle that this would be a one night thing. Convince Lena, and be done with it. But nothing had gone as expected. Lena saw right through us from the very beginning, and I had basically just told her to screw off, which was never a good idea when it came to my cousin. Especially since she had just promised my Father would get involved. Dani was in for a lot more than either of us had bargained for. The question was, did she have enough strength to continue the charade? Because I would not allow another innocent girl be bullied by my family again. Not after what happened last time. A wave of sorrow crashed over me, and I took deep calming breaths. My priority right now was keeping Danielle safe. I had to go find her. Fishing bills out of my wallet, I dumped them on the table and went off in search of the girl who had unknowingly entered into something a lot more than she ever meant to.

Even worse, I had a job tonight.

Andrei's POV

I was going to kill my sister. Sure, it was obvious to anyone that Danielle wasn't actually Kyle's girlfriend. Someone like her would never even consider going out with a jackass like him. But did she really have to be her usual bitchy self? Anger coursed through me. I wasn't sure why I had taken such a strong liking to the charming blonde, but I knew I wouldn't let either Kyle or Lena hurt her.

Following her through the busy crowd, I was about to call out to her when suddenly, she stopped, and began to fall.

I don't remember moving faster in my life. Within seconds I had reached her and was able to cradle her body in mine as she collapsed.

"What the fuck did you do?" Bitterness swelled up inside of me at the sound of Kyle's voice. Our entire lives he had overshadowed me, been given the love and glory in our family, only to throw it all away to come and live in America like some spoiled brat.
