I get back to the orphanage around 4:30. I gave Mary-Beth her cupcake and floated upstairs, feeling too lazy to walk. I was upstairs for 2 hours painting and eating Reese's and then decided to head downstairs to start breakfast for the other 12 girls here.
There are 3 sets of twins. There are 6 year old Sally and Callie, 4 year old Kendal and Sarah, and 8 year old Isabel and Anna. They are all package deals. One cannot leave without the other. The other one are 3 year old Ashley, who I adore, and 7 year old McKenzie, who is as cute as a button. The other 4 are not so adorable or cute. They are Molly, Sally, and Perrie. They are the 14, 15, and 16 year old sidekicks of the biggest slut of all, who goes by Patricia.
They all dress in too small clothes, try to boss everyone around when I'm not there, and they all look like they got raped by a box of crayons. They try to mess with me, they try to physically hurt me, and are just straight up rude. They call me names and stuff like that. I just feel sorry for them. I get to be here as long as I want, but is they don't get adopted, then what do they have?
You may have read that orphanages have no money, food, or clothes, right? Well that's not completely true. There is some money that each kid gets to pick their own clothes, make up, and extra stuff. We older ones get 20 dollars per week. The younger ones get 15 dollars a week. I take the younger ones places because the crayons won't take them anywhere. I get clothes every other week and other stuff the weeks I don't get clothes.
I am the only one with a phone because I am the most responsible. We are all up for adoption until we turn 19 and a half. Then we have to leave. The crayons got here around 6 to 8 months ago at different times, but they all clicked I guess. They all think I'm 17, which is what I want. The orphanage was mostly empty except for Isabel, Anna, and Ashley. The twins got here 5 years ago while Ashley has been here since she was a few days old. The twins haven't noticed my non ageing. The others got here within the past 2 years.
There are either not too many adoptions or people come and don't find any kids they like. We haven't had anyone adopt for 4 months, but we do have people coming in every couple of weeks. I hope the younger ones gets adopted because they deserve a chance. I don't really care how long I'm here, because as people leave then they will forget about me, so I can stay here and not blow my cover. I've had more than a life, so they at least deserve one.
I am painting a portrait of Ashley and me at the pond outside when I hear Mary-Beth over the intercom. "All girls of all ages please make your way down to the interview room in 15 minutes, again all girls of all ages. Thank you!" I don't move as I can hear all the girl's feet pattering against the wood floor to look their best. I hear the click of the intercom as Mary-Beth comes back on. "Attention. This family, a woman and her husband, are bringing along their sons and their sons friends. The family will seem larger, so please do not bombard them with too many questions. Their boys are merely here to help them make their decision, so please stay calm and rational. Thank you!"
I kept painting not minding the announcement. They won't want me anyways. I may be over 400 years old, but I still would love a family again. I hear the crayons, which I love that nickname, talking about the new family. I call them each colors in the crayon box because I don't like to say their names.
Patricia – Neon Pink/NP
Molly – Neon Green/NG
Sally – Neon Yellow/NY
Perrie – Neon Blue/NB
I hate neon and bright colors!
NP – "OMG! I tots hope that their sons are older! And hot! Then that means their friends will be just as hot! Like I hope they are cuties! How do you spell that? C-U-T-Y-S! Omg!" Could she be any more annoying?!
NB – "Tots!"
NY – "Totally! I think that's how you spell it!"
NG – "We are sooo smart! Like...Lol! Haha!"
Oh... My... God... I may already be dead, but can you just kill me some more? Is that possible. How can four people be so stupid? I didn't even get an education, yet I know way more than those airheads. Jeez!
'Autumn! Are you coming down here or not? I love you and all, but you be here for the rest of your life is not what I want for you.' Mary-Beth mind links me. I shoot back at her. 'If they do happen to ask if there is anyone left, then you can mention me, but if they don't ask, then don't say ANYTHING! I want those kids to have a chance. Okay?' I can feels her sigh. 'Fine.' With that she put her block up.
I listen into the family's conversations from up hear. I can hear deeper voices whispering, male, but I can't make out what they're saying. I hear a woman's voice, who I presume is the mother. "Boys. I want you to behave yourselves and don't do anything stupid. Understood." I hear collective yes' and the interviews begin.
I can hear the four crayons slam a door from the second floor and I can hear them making their way downstairs. They like to be 'fashionably' late as they say. I love the song Fashionably Late by Falling in Reverse! Anyone else? Anyways, I want to see how this goes, so I quickly hop out my window and float down to watch the scene from behind the bush. I see the crayons walk in. The family's back are to me so I can't see their faces. I can see a man, woman, and nine younger/older teens sitting on the hard floor. Their heads snap towards the crayons and all goes silent. I can smell their perfume through the window. I can see their slutty outfits and I want to puke, if I could.
NP – "Which one of you is going to be my brothers?" The man awkwardly coughs and decides to speak up after an uncomfortable silence. "Umm. If we were to adopt you, then your brothers would be Alex and Mikey here." I see two boys raise their hands. They look about our age. "But what makes you think we will adopt you for sure?" Oh. He should not have said it like that.
NP – "What do you mean 'why'? I'm perfect! I have the hottest clothes, hair, face, and body! I'm popular and all the kids here absolutely adore me!" I hear shouts of laughter come from all of the girls. I smirk and see the boys chuckling a bit too.
"Us?! Like the she devil?! That's probably the funniest thing you ever said!" I hear the twins Isabel and Anna shout out. They have always had that weird sink thing. Isabel starts to go red and looks mad. Oh no. "Do you make us brownies?! No! Do you take us shopping for new clothes with YOUR allowance?! No! Do you have three jobs to help pay for food and new stuff, like YOUR make up?! NO! The one who does all of those things is the girl upstairs! I won't say her name because she told me not to. She has been here for the past 17 years and she never comes down because she is always saying how we deserve a life more than she does. She puts US first while you put YOU first! We will always love her most! Not you!"
Holy shit! She is pissed! The slut and her crayons huff and leave the room in their too tall heels. Oh great! Now the family knows that somebody, me, is upstairs. I'm going to have to come down now, damn it!
"There's someone else here?" The one who I believe is Alex asks. Mary-Beth smiles an innocent smile, but I know deep down she is smirking in victory. I knew she knew I was here. She could sense me like I could sense her. "Yes, we do. She is a very kind and sweet girl. She is a hard worker and is always saying if she doesn't get adopted, then she'll stay here and work. She has three jobs and helps out a lot! She always put the younger ones lives before her own. Even those four girls who just stormed out. You'll love her! I'll go get her!"
I quickly hover up to my bedroom window and get in my room. I put on my black leather pants, Falling in Reverse t shirt, and my black and white Pom Pom beanie. My door opens to reveal a smirking Mary-Beth. "Okay! You win! I'll be down in a minute!" She just laughs and closes the door. I grab my Ray bans and head down the stairs.
When I make it to the interview room I knock on the door. I don't want to seem rude like the four pack of crayons. I open the door and who I see makes me smile and chuckle thinking how this is even possible. "Oh my God."
