Weak and tired, you press your hand down onto the cold handle of the door and pull it open.

You see him lying there. Lifeless. Colourless. Helpless. You walk over to him, taking in the sight of all of the machines around him. You stare at the heart monitor. The steady beat of it makes you relax a little. You kneel down next to him, taking his hand in yours, being ever so gentle.

"Wake up, Tom," You whisper. "Wake up. Please wake up." Tears taint your vision. "I love you. I love you more than words could explain and I'll love you till the day I die. Just please wake up." You cry, soundlessly. You press your lips to his hand. "I need you." You mumble into his skin. "I couldn't do anything without you, Tom." You lean your face against the mattress of the hospital bed, his hand still near your face. You close you eyes, taking in his scent.

Your eyes flutter open quickly as you feel someone stroke your face.

"Amy," He breathes, his voice obviously weak.

"Tom..." You gasp, putting your hands to his face.

"Amy.. I love you." He says, the words passing through, pale, parched lips. "Always remember that." He opens his hazel eyes a crack, looking at you.

"I know Tom, I love you too. You'll get through this. I know you will." You stroke his face lightly with your fingers.

"Amy... I can't. There's no chance of me getting better. You know that." His eyes tear up.

"No." You put your hands through his blue shock of hair. "Everything will be fine. God, Tom..." You start to cry. "I NEED you. What I'm I going to do without you?"

"Forget about me." Tears roll down his cheeks. "Find someone new. Live your life. You don't need me, sweetheart. You were the best thing that ever happened to me. I'll die a happy man. All because I have you. Here right now. With me."

His eyes close, the bleeping of the heart monitor getting slower.

"Please don't go, Tom. You don't deserve this. This shouldn't be you." You sob, hysterically. "Don't sleep Tom. Don't sleep."

He opens his eyes again. "I love you, Amy Milsom. Always remember that." He shuts his eyes.

Your heart pounds as the heart monitor goes on a continuous 'beeeeeeeeeeep'. "NO!" You scream. You grasp his face in your hands. "NO TOM. WAKE UP. PLEASE WAKE UP!"

"Amy he's gone, I'm sorry." You turn around to see the nurse that was looking after him standing in the door way.

"DO SOMETHING!" You scream at her.

"Miss Denvir, I can't. I'm sorry."

"WHY?"

"Because it's what Tom wanted. He wanted to go when the time was right. I know it's hard, but-"

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no." You turn back to tom. "Wake up baby. Wake up Tom. Wake up."

"Miss Denvir," The woman raises her voice. "He's gone. There's nothing we can do. If you would be ever so kind to just leave him-"

"NO, HE CAN'T BE. NOT MY TOM. NOT MY TOM!" You shake him. "Wake UP!" You sob.

You then thrash about and scream as you feel a pair of slender arms wrap round your waist, pulling you away from Tom. "Put me down!" You spit.

"Amy, calm down." Bens says into your ear.

"But, Ben, he's gone. He's gone." You cry.

When you get outside of the room, Ben puts you down and pulls you into a hug.

"I know, but we're gonna get through this, Denvir." He says, voice unsteady.

"I can't. I wont, Ben." You cry into his jumper, your tears soaking his shoulder.

"Well you're just going to have to. We all are, Aime." Bens voice breaks. You look up at him as tears roll down his cheeks. His red hair sticking up in random places. "Do you wanna stay at mine tonight?" He asks.

You nod.

"Okay." he kisses the top of your forehead, tenderly..
