"But mom I don't want to go." I say stubbornly "I just wanna stay home and be lazy in my bed."

"Serena Elizabeth you. are. the. strangest. teenager. I have ever met IN THE HISTORY OF TEENAGERS. I mean what teenage girl would rather stay home being lazy than go to the mall?"

"Me apparently and plus mom I'm extremely committed to my job of converting oxygen into carbon dioxide.......it's exhausting."

"Wow..just get dressed please." Replies my mom while laughing.
I know i give her a hard time sometimes, but shes my best friend and the closest thing I have to a mother. Because, you see my real parents died a long time ago and I barely remember them. I don't even know how they died. Well anyway enough of that I need to get dressed. So I walk over to my dresser and throw on my black long sleeve star wars shirt and my skinny jeans. I walk over to my mirror and do a usual examination and comb out the beast on my head.
"Serena I'll be in the car come when you're ready."
"Okay mom I'm coming."
I reply as I throw my brush down and put on my converse, while I walk to the car.
"So mom what's happenin?"
"Well right now I am currently backing out of the drive way....and now I'm putting the car in drive and toning you out."
"Well then. I love you too."
On the way to the mall I guess I could tell you a little about me and if ands or buts about it okay. Well for starters my name is Serena Elizabeth Watson, if you didn't already know that. I am super lazy but her what can I say I literally never have anything to do. But like my dad always says, 'I'm not lazy I'm just highly motivated into doing nothing.' Which is now my life Motto. You probably don't want to know any of the boring details about my life, so i wont waste your time.
"So Serena what are you going to get for Madison's birthday?" Asks my mom.
Ohhhh so now you wanna talk huh?
"Um...lets see..let me think about this one hmm...oh oh I got it how about memories of me not getting her anything? Yeah sounds good enough for me."
"Serena but she's your cousin."
"But mom she didn't get me anything for my birthday." I reply.
"Honey I told you she just forgot."
"Yeah just like how she forgot to invite me to her birthday party EVERY year."
"Now sweetie that's not fair."
"Mom life is not fair." I reply as she pulls into a parking spot.
"Alright alright you know what I say?"
"What?" I ask her.
"Pretzels I say PRETZELS." My mom practically screams at me.
"Okay so something is telling me that you want to go to the pretzel stand first."
"I wonder what that could have been." Replies my mom as she walks into the mall heading straight for the pretzel stand.
"Oh I don't know maybe it was intuition."
"Oh Serena look at that pretzel stand." Replies my mom completely ignoring what I just said.
"Yeah mom looks like a pretty nice pretzel stand." I say while winking at her.
"No Serena I'm not talking about the stand."
I take another look and I see a guy my age or at least around my age. So what do I do? I give my mom the your so ugh look.
"You should go talk to him while I shop and eat pretzels." Suggests my mom.
"So you are telling me I got out of bed to talk to strangers and watch you devour some pretzels?" I ask.
"Sounds about right Serena."
My mom doesn't even let me say another word and even if I did she probably wouldn't hear me. Because, shes to busy dragging me to the guys table. But hey at least he's not ugly. He's about 5'9'' with black hair and olive skin.
"Mom you can stop dragging me now."
"Are you going to go to the table?" Asks my mom.
"You know parents aren't supposed to encourage their kids to talk to strange guys." I say, "But fine I'll go."
"Yay now I will meet you back here at lets see..it's 11:00 a.m. right now so 5ish."
"Okay."
I say as she walks off to go murder some poor innocent baby pretzels. I wish the table was farther away, but it's not it's literally 6feet away  from me to the left. I look over to my mom who is already ordering her pretzels. Then I look back to his table and I see his family leaving him at the table. Which makes this feel just a little less awkward.
