After almost 3 years of being best friends. She does this to me. Wait... Is it my fault? Ugh! I don't know what to think about it right now

I got to school the next Monday morning. There she was....with him.... I got kinda sick. I threw up a little bit in my mouth. As kaitlyn walks up she makes a kinda confused/disgusted face. I don't blame her.
"They are now dating" I say trying to hold in the puke.
"When did this happen? And why aren't y'all talking....? Wait don't answer that!"
She comes to me and hugs me. She always knows what to say or do to make me feel better.
I head off to 1st period trying to put everything that had happened that weekend behind me. I get in the classroom and sit in my normal seat. There is someone sitting beside me I haven't seen sit there before. I had seen him around school and we have said hi before but nothing more than that.
I push it aside and get my books out and ready for class. I try to concentrate on writing our assignment for the class period but I get distracted by a slight psst so I look to my left and I see its that guy. Dang I start to recognize him. He is the only guy Courtney has liked since like forever. Danny. But she finally got over him I guess and she likes Luke now. He leans over and sits a small piece of paper on my desk then immediately pays attention to the teacher again. I slowly opened the note. It reads
Hey Eden. I just need to talk to you. Maybe after school? Maybe you could come to my house. Or we could go to the park. Whichever you would like best. :)
Well then. I wonder what he's got to talk about. Omg what if he's liked Courtney all this time and was just scared to admit it?!?!? I decided to stop daydreaming and write back.

I give him the note back and he reads it and gives me a thumbs up and sticks the note in his back pocket. He is kinda tall. I would say he's about 5'10 or somewhere around there. He's got dark brown hair that almost looks like a black. It's going in front of his eyes. Not in the annoying way though. If you get what I'm saying.

The last bell of the day finally rings. I get up and go to my locker. As I'm getting the stuff I'll need for that night my phone goes off. I get it out and check it.
Hey it's me Danny. :) xx
Me: hey Danny. I'm getting my stuff out of my locker then I'll text you back.
Danny: okay.
I finish with my locker and shut it and start to walk to the double doors that lead me out of this living hell hole.
Me: hey I'm just now walking out the doors. Where you wanna meet up at?
Danny: it really doesn't matter to me.
Me: well it doesn't to me either so you choose.
Danny: ok ok fine. How about that little park on the corner of South Park?
Me: that's fine I'll see you there.
