Hello to my fellow Thranduil fans! This is my new fanfic, and I hope that you enjoy!

The melodic sound of birds chirping was loud, making my pointed ears twitch at the mere sound. A hand gently shook me, and I could feel my eyebrows come together in confusion.

"Edith, wake up, pen tithen (little one)." I heard the familiar kind voice that spoke to me with evident love, and slowly my eyes began to open.

Yawning, and running the blurriness from my eyes at the same time, I saw my Ada's handsome features smiling down at me. His long black hair was slightly tickling my hand that wasn't under the covers. Happy to see him, I smiled back. "Hey, Ada(dad)."

"Hello there, sleepy head. Happy Birthday, Edith." Yes, I had almost forgotten that I turned two hundred today, and I groaned in the sudden realization. "Not feeling the birthday spirit, eh? Well, we'll just have to fix that won't we?"

I knew what he meant and before I could protest I was doubling over in laughter as Ada poked me all over my sides, making me jolt back and forth. He knows how ticklish I am and I hate that he uses that as an advantage over me.

"Alright, alright! I'm in the birthday spirit! Thanks, Ada." I said, trying to even out my ragged breathing. Ada chuckled as he got off my bed, and turns to face me when he stood in the doorway.

"Get ready, we have a long day ahead of us, pen tithen." He left out the room, and I left my feet dangle off the side of the bed, barely scraping the floor. Ada has called me pen tithen since the day he first held me in his arms, I believe.

I walked to my closet, and chose a beautiful soft grey dress that fit my curved body perfectly to wear. It used to be my mother's, so long ago, and one of the only things I have that belonged to her.

I brushed all the knots out of my long, black hair, which I received from my Ada, getting it straight as possible, and fixed it so that it was pulled back nice and neat.

When I walked out of my room, Ada was standing in front of the door with that cheeky smile of his, making me eye him with amusement and slight suspicion. "Ada?"

"You're first birthday gift... well, I thought you might like to give these a try, yea?" Ada pulled something from behind his back, and my eyes widened in joy.

I gasped as I held the the long bow and arrows in my hands. There was an inscription on the bow that read my name, Edith. I had wanted my own bow and arrows for a while, and Ada seemed to think I was fairly great in archery.

"Ada..." I was almost speechless, and I couldn't quite find the words to say, for I felt they would fail at expressing the joy and happiness I felt inside. I knew Ada was the best in carpentry, but this is beautiful, and it was perfect.

"I made it myself. I know you've wanted your own bow and arrows for a while now, and I thought you'd like it." Ada said a little nervously. I beamed up at him, and engulfed him in a bear hug.

"Ada, it's the best bow I've ever seen. Thank you." I said, but my words were a little muffled as I dug my head into his chest. He chuckled as he hugged me back, and patted my head lovingly.

"You're welcome, pen tithen. Your other gifts will have to wait until later. Why don't we go try out your new bow, and find some lunch?" I released my ada, and slung my arrows over my shoulder.
