We ran for a long time, until I noticed Stygian's increasing fatigue. I surveyed our surroundings.
"The river should be right over there, so let's stop for a drink." I sensed his gratitude as he began to trot in the direction of the water.
He was very thirsty.
"Easy on the liquids boy, you'll not be letting any of it go while I'm near." He brushed me off and continued dunking his head in the cool water greedily.
I was just about to lecture him again when I got a really bad feeling. I spun around quickly, surely something was behind us. Nothing.
"Stygian. Were leaving. Now." He obeyed immediately this time, sensing the threat as well. We took off back towards the manor.
The hair on my neck stood on end and my spine tingled. This presence was overwhelming.
I turned to see if someone was following us when I caught sight of something beside us flying towards us. Before I could turn my gaze again I was knocked to the ground roughly. Someone had knocked into me. Or thrown themselves at me more accurately.
I found myself pinned beneath this person sorely. I heard Stygian neigh beside me.
"Hehehe, well don't you look awful active for a dead man." That voice.
I forced my clenched eyes open.
"Well I suppose I had a hand in that. Since I was the one who took your soul." Hannah.
"Impossible." Fortunately my words seemed more logical than shocked, which was definitely what I was, to say the least.
"Is it?" She grinned insanely. "Apparently Hannah thought so too. She thought if she killed herself with all of us inside her that we would all die together." She snickered coldly. "Stupid cunt. The only thing she accomplished was killing herself. Our souls are still alive and kicking inside this whore's body." Wait. That speech, those eyes...
"A- Alois?" He refocused on me with a crazy grin.
"Ding! Ding! Ding! Correct! Hello Ciel dearest, did you miss me?" No. Impossible.
He waited for my answer until it was apparent I wasn't going to give one. He shrugged, Hannah's baby blue hair falling into my shoulder.
"Oh well. Anyways, I have a present for you! Let's go!" He stood and brutishly tugged me to my feet.
"Wait- no!" He began running away from the manor, pulling me with him. I heard Stygian behind me.
"Stygian go get Sebas-!.. No..." I couldn't finish my sentence.
I was led far into the forest, Alois gripping my hand tightly. We finally entered a small clearing where a small house was standing in the shadows of the surrounding trees.
"Where are we? I've been through every acre of the grounds surrounding the manor and I've never seen this place before." And if I hadn't, Sebastian had.
Alois looked back at me pitifully.
"Oh Ciel, your loyal little butler didn't teach you anything did he? We're already on the other side of England."
Nonsense. We'd only been running for around ten minutes.
"Though I have to admit, I'm kind of disappointed we didn't go faster. Guess I just need more practice!" He laughed manically again before tossing me through the wooden door into the cabin. I looked around. There wasn't much here, it was small, even for a commoners quarters.
"Oh don't fret, Mister Master, we have a basement."
"Great, now I'm completely happy." I replied bitterly.
"Come come frownie face, your present's downstairs!" Again he took my hand and we hazardly descended the steps. The further down we travelled the worse I felt.
"Here we are." He opened a door beside the stairs and pushed me into it before slamming it shut behind me. I turned toward the heavy door, staring at Hannah's face through a small window.
"Don't have too much fun now!" He called through the window before ascending the stairs again. I craned my neck to watch him acidicly as he left. I was so focused on him that it took me a moment to realize how the room smelled.
How good the room smelled.
"Oh no..." I turned slowly, the dim candlelight flickering in the scared eyes of the dozen humans in the room with me.
