"Chanel, are you ready?"
"Yeah, mom" Chanel ran down the stairs with her phone + earplugs in one hand and a small purse in her other hand. She put her stuff in her purse and got inside of her mother's car. "You got the shopping list, mom?" "No, I'm glad you asked, because I almost forgot," Her mother got out of the car and ran inside to get the list.

Chanel looked through the window while the two drove to the groceriestore. Chanel saw a group of guys standing against a wall smoking and talking loud, she had never seen them before. A girl walked past the group as they started to whistle at her. One of the guys stopped her by standing in front of her while the other guys stood in a circle around them. Only one guy stayed against the wall, also, he was the only one not smoking.

"Before you all try to do something to her, back the fûck up. She didn't do shit, let her walk" The guy who stood against the wall broke the circle and walked the girl out of it. The guys just laughed and began talking about whatever again.

That one guy who 'saved' the girl looked so familiar to Chanel. She watched him shake his head and walk the other way while he pulled his phone out of his pocket.

"Mom, did you see that?" Chanel looked at her mother who was trying to put on lipstick while driving. Her mother hummed something. "What are you doing, mom? Stop!" Chanel laughed. "But I forgot to put on lipstick, Chanel" Her mother pouted. Chanel shook her head at her mother. "And no, I didn't see what you asked me about. What was it?" "Never mind."

After my mother paid, we walked out of the store with a few very full bags. I put my bags in the car when I heard noise. My mother dropped a bag... typical. The guy I saw earlier ran up to us and helped my mother pick everything up.

He was wearing a snapback, sunglasses and black clothes. He put the bags in the car and helped my mother stand up. Nice guy, I smiled. He reached for my mother's hand, "Justin" he said and sent my mother a smile. "Oh, I'm Joan" My mother's face lit up and she smiled big. Justin sent me a small smile too and then tried to walk away.

"Hey!" I made him look back at us. "Don't just act like we have never met," I said. Justin walked back to us and looked at his feet. "Mom?" I looked at my mother who looked back at me with a confused face. My head was full of questions and I needed some answers.

Why are they acting like they have never met? Wasn't he in our dámn house yesterday? My mother sure didn't recognize him, she's old I get it. Or she's just acting like it. Whatever.

"Justin, I don't understand..?" He walked up to me and put a small piece of paper in my hand before walking away. I read what's on the paper, his number, hm, classic. "Let's go, mom"
