I let out a sigh as I trekked down the halls. It was lunch hour right now but I couldn't bring myself to eat anything, I lost my appetite. My mind was too focused elsewhere - on James Bennett, the forest, my dreams, and that man.
My line of vision spotted bright red hair from the corner of my eye. I turned to see my friend, Eleanor, sitting with her back against her locker. She was flipping through a book while taking a bite of her sandwich. My stomach growled on cue. I looked down with a glare. Oh, now you're hungry?
She looked up. "Hey. What's up?"
"Nothing, whatcha' doing?" I asked as my back hit the locker behind me, and I slide down and sat beside her.
"Research." I grabbed her sandwich and took a big bite. She playfully scowled at me but otherwise took it back and bit into it as well.
"About?"
"King Rowan."
"Why are you doing research about King Rowan, didn't you already learn about him growing up?" King Rowan was the ruler that started everything. He ruled in the 1800's and started the foundation on how our lives are now. We still follow his rulings and the laws he placed. He was also the first gay king. He fought long and hard for it to be accepted and that carried on from generation to generation. It's still widely accepted by the majority, with the exception of those who still follow the ways of the bible. There were plenty of laws in place that protected gay people from others that didn't accept it. I was thankful for those laws, they were the very reason I felt safe after I got bullied so bad. Let's just say that the individuals involved got what they deserved.
"I'm writing about him for my college entrance exam."
"How that going for you?"
"It's going. I'm trying to find out as much information I can about his Prince."
She flipped another page and hovered her hands over the words as she read. She stopped. "Prince Aidyn." She looked up with a raised brow.
"Uh, Yeah - " I rubbed a hand over the back of my head in a nervous gesture and gave a small chuckle. "My mom named me after him."
"Fancy." She mumbled as she turned to another page and made 'cooing' noises not to soon after.
"Look what King Rowan says about his Aidyn. "He's my summer. As bright as the sun and as hot as the summer's heat. My beloved lights a fire inside me." that is too cute for words."
I made a noise in agreement. As she continued to read, I let out a yawn as I stared off ahead.
"Holy shit!"
"Hmm?" I hummed absently.
"You look exactly like Prince Aidyn, like an exact replica. It's freaky! You even have the same name. Coincidence I think not, you're totally a reincarnation him!" She squealed out.
"Don't start with this shit." I groused. I totally believed in reincarnation and all that jazz but when in starts involving me, then all beliefs get put on the back burner.
"Whatever." She said. I rolled my eyes.
"Look how hot the king was too, I'd be all over him like ham on cheese." Ham on cheese?
"I already know how hot he is, I've seen his picture before. I so want to be the water that cascaded down those muscles." I stated dreamingly. I had the biggest crush on King Rowan when I first laid eyes on him in my textbook. The man was too sexy to even be considered sexy.
