I woke up to the feeling of the back my head hitting something solid. I started rubbing the back of my head trying to remember what happened. In a few moments it all came back to me.

I sat up to find my self not in a helicopter, but still in the yellow raft on the shore of some unknown island. There was a tree line about 50 yards away from the water; the rest was sand.

There was no hint of civilization anywhere. There were no other islands in the horizon.

I started to panic, and have questions. Did the helicopters ever find us? Was I one of the people that didn't get to go on the helicopter? Am I the only one on this island? How far am I from the ship location?

I stood up and saw that I hit my head on a large rock. I dragged the raft farther away from the water so it doesn't float away.

I started to pace back and fourth, pondering whether I should just wait or go to that creepy looking jungle for shelter for the night. Geez, it looks thick!

I looked up at the sky to see what time it was. Although I didn't know which way was East or West.

I cursed under my breath and decided to try and find shelter for the night.

I unzipped my suitcase to grab the machete to cut through the thick branches.

I walked towards the jungle grasping the machete in my palms, ready to slice anything that gets in my way because I was not in a good mood right now.

I started slicing through the palm trees, vines and ferns. The machete was really easy to slice with because it was really sharp which is really handy for my situation. It felt good getting all my frustration out like this.

The soil felt really moist and I can feel bugs crawling across my feet, which gave me the shivers.

There were noises coming from everywhere while I was walking through this mess they call a jungle.

It opened up a bit when I got past the tree line, which was good because I think I pulled a muscle in my arm. It was a work out, that's for sure.

Just a few yards away, I saw a cave under a rock thinking that'll be my shelter till they come back and look for me. I thought positively, but the world and me knew that they were never going to find me.

The cave was just tall enough for me to stand in, but my height is 5'5 so it wasn't that tall. It only went five meters in then there was a massive rock wall with a rectangular looking rock attached to the wall which kind of looks like a table. It was perfect to put my suitcase on.

I would say the cave was around the size of an average room. I decided it was the perfect spot; it was close to the water, I didn't have to worry about rain leaking through the roof and it was like it was made for a home.

After I was done adoring my new home I chose to bring my suitcase into the cave. While I was walking towards the beach I heard a stick snap. "Who's there?" I questioned with my machete ready to strike anything or anyone, who was threat to me. I didn't hear any other twigs snap.

I silently walked towards the mysterious noise, which came from behind bush. I quickly looked behind the bush and saw that there was nothing there.  I thought I was crazy because I thought there was someone else on the island but there can be nobody but me.  I shook it off and realized it was probably some harmless animal.  Then I continued walking back to the beach.

I grabbed the raft and my suitcase and dragged it along to the cave. I put the suitcase on the rock table where I said I would put it and the raft would be my bed for now. I immediately remember I should probably make a fire because it would probably get cold overnight.

I went out near the beach to grab a few rocks for a designated rock fireplace. Then I started to cut some dead palm tree and cut them into logs with my machete.

Once I gathered all the supplies, I made a ring with the rocks and placed some starter wood in a teepee form.   Once I was done piling the extra wood against the wall I grabbed a vogue magazine from my suitcase and used it for paper for the fire.  I placed it in the middle of the teepee formed wood and grabbed my lighter, lit the paper and started to blow on the embers.   After a while of blowing, the flames started to rise.

I went outside to look at the sky and see where the sun was.  I saw it moved more to the west, which meant west was that way.  I probably had an hour till dusk. Once I saw how much time there was, I realized I should make a wall to make sure nothing came into the cave after dark.

Not far from the cave, there was a palm tree that had long, thick leaves on it. I sliced them off of the wood and leaned them against the cave entrance. I would figure out a door process tomorrow but it wasn't a priority tonight.

After I built the wall, I grabbed a waffle from the take out box.  I ate that for my dinner and also had half a water bottle for a beverage.  The waffle wasn't filling enough but it'll have to do for tonight.

Once I finished eating, I put an extra piece of wood in the fire so it would get a bit warmer in here, even though it was getting warm already.  Then I curled up into a ball in my raft, closed my eyes and cried myself to sleep, missing my life I loved at home.
