The road was long and really bumpy. The seat belt Thomas had on didn't help at all. All around them were trees. Is his secret the fact that he's a country boy? Thomas wondered. Everything looked so normal but so strange at the same time. It was too quiet; the only sounds that were made were from the car., and the occasional bird.

"Look Thomas," Kyle said, trying to keep his eyes in the road. "Whatever you see at my house, you cannot tell about to anyone." He stopped the car altogether and turned to face his friend. He looked Thomas dead in the eye.

Thomas studied Kyle's face. He was serious. If Kyle was ever trying to tell you something serious, shut up and listen.

"I understand, man. I'm not gonna tell anyone about anything. Now keep driving," Thomas chuckled. Kyle chuckled too, and kept driving.

Soon the trees suddenly opened up onto a cliff. They drove along the road alongside the cliff for a couple of minutes. It was so different from the forest they'd exited only a few seconds ago. The forest had been quiet and full of life; the cliff was barren and sloped downwards into Lake Superior. The cliff wasn't very high, but it was more like a high five for adrenaline junkies.

Suddenly, a beach house came into view. It was made out of wood, and basically looked like any other beach house. Only this one was very close to the edge of the cliff. The patio at the front of the house was so close to the edge that you could stand at the rail and look down at the water below. Also, the house had a giant window on the second story facing the cliff. Hell of a view, Thomas thought.

Thomas hadn't noticed that the car had stopped. He looked over to Kyle, but Kyle had already gotten out and shut the car door.

Thomas slowly got out and gawked at the house. Kyle nudged him. "You're drooling, pal," he said. "Kyle, your house is amazing! Why were you so afraid to show me something like this?" Thomas asked. Kyle chuckled nervously. "It wasn't the house that I thought was gonna freak you out. It's my siblings. And also the secret," Kyle replied. Thomas had completely forgotten about the so-called secret. "Here c'mon. I'll introduce you to the fam," Kyle motioned with his hand to follow him, and started towards the house.
