I woke up to the sound of chaos which sounded like it was coming from the kitchen, I got up but steadied myself to awaken my senses from the hard night last night. I rubbed and squinted my eyes down the hallway to see a kettle on a stove that isn't even mine, and pieces of what looks like already cooked french toast sitting on a plate. Not long after does Scarlett coming running in to tend to the screaming kettle, and tips some liquid into two cups and hands me one while I delvige into the french toast. 'Um what is and who's-' I was totally confused too much for one morning. 'Oh I bought you a new kettle pot, I couldn't work out the fancy coffee machine of yours over there, plus i'm more of a herbal tea person than a coffee one.'  She took a sip and sighed with satisfaction.

A while later I was in the middle of eating my toast, while I was just staring at Scarlett to see if she was really there or not. In an instant I was thinking back to when we in our teen years, when things were easy and the only the stressful thing we did was to see who would get an A grade first on a test. We were so close back then, people were suprised that we didn't end up being a couple, but I respected her way too much to think of her in that way, so I guess it was just a matter of time before we went our seperate ways. I finally broke the ice with an honest and sincere question. 'Do you believe that we would've still being close, if I was a different person?' I blurted out. She looked up from her magazine. 'I'm sorry.. what?' She put the mag down on the bench. 'Well what do you think would've happened, hadn't I been the person that I am..?'

'Well, I can definately tell you that it would've been nicer, if you hadn't shut me out the way you had, and kept in contact. But we're all not god, we can't predict what the future holds unfortunately.' She was full well into this conversation now, I could see it. 'It was for the better I mean, you wouldn't stay for long with all the secrets and lies that came with it.' I said bitterly with the reminder of my own life. 'Yes I would've actually, because I know you Marshall, the real you, without all this rich party boy image. Sometimes it can be a pain in the ass but I know that you're better than all of this.' She said while gesturing around the room.

I've hadn't had a close heart-to-heart conversation like this, since the time when I had my last sleep over at hers when I was 16. God i'm not good at these, shit what do I say? What if I say the wrong thing? 'Well I'm going to have a shower, are you finished with that?' I said while pointing to her mug. 'Sure thing, and I'll just wait until that real Marshall comes back.' She said and stormed off into the spare bedroom. 'Ugh fuck..' I sighed and stood there like a total moron, until I picked up the mugs and put them into the dishwasher. That's the only thing I hate about having showers, is that you have all that time to think about the stuff that's really troubling you. I've always been like this around women, not knowing what to say, that's why I haven't been able to keep a steady girlfriend, or to have a real one for that matter.

I threw some clothes on, and walked up to the guest room to try and regain some peace. I knocked on the door and with a loud and teary response 'GO AWAY MARSHALL!' Ok just make a point Marshall. 'Please Scar, I don't want it to be like this between us..' I leant against the door. 'Why so you can make feel like shit again..?' She threw what sounded like a pillow at the door. 'No, but if I have, I am asshole for doing that.' I firmly shut my eyes and waited until the door suddenly opened from behind me. 'Umm what are you doing?' She asked awkwardly while looking down at me. 'Hi..' I quickly got up from the floor, luckily she wasn't wearing a dress or skirt, because that would've have been completely awkward. 'I was just wanting to apologise for earlier, and i'm not trying to make excuses, I actually want to us talk properly this time.' I looked into her blue-green eyes. 'Fine we can talk later ok, but can I get dressed?' She sighed. 'Right, of course.'

I realised, that it had been awhile since I had seen Neve, and her birthday was coming up again soon, so I thought that it would be great to introduce her Scarlett. I called up my brother, and waited until he picked up, instead it was his wife Janeane. 'Speaking..' She asked in the soft tone of hers. 'Ugh hi Janeane it's Marshall..' - 'Oh hi Marshall how are things, haven't seen you in a while.' - 'I know   that's why I'm calling to see if it's alright if I come over for awhile.' - 'No, that's fine, that would be lovely, actually, Neve's just out at a friends place at the moment, but if you come over let's say around 1, I'll have her home by then.' - 'Great, oh and there's someone that I would like for all you guys to meet. Is it alright if I bring that someone?' - 'Any friend of yours, is a friend of ours, alright honey it was nice talking to you, see you soon.' - 'Thanks bye.' As soon as I had put the phone down Scarlett walked in, and she did look great.

'Who was that?' She asked curiously. 'My sister-in-law, listen how would you like to come with me, and spend some time out?' I smiled. 'Sure, I guess..' She finished fixing her hair into a perfect bun. 'Now they don't know who you are yet, but I want it to be a suprise is that ok?' I asked cautiously. 'No, that's actually even better right?' She shrugged and grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl. 'Did you want to grab some breakfast first?' I grabbed my blazer. 'Sure, but this time, I'm driving..' She grinned at me with mischef. Of course my initial reaction was to cringe when she said that, because let's be honest my cars are all well into the six figures. She pranced into the garage and skipped around the cars as if she was getting her own first car. 'I think I'll drive this one..' She smiled back at me. 'Ah the Mercedes?' I asked with suprise. 'Yeah, I've always wanted to drive one of these.' She defended her judgement. 'Alright the Merc it is, let me just grab the keys...' I chucked them to her and we sped off.

We stopped about half way in Santa Monica to get some breakfast, there was this great little cafe that didn't look crowded so that was ok, but I was worried about people seeing me, so I got Scarlett to grab our breakfast to go and we ate it at Palisades Park under some palm trees. The sun was just amazing as it radiated through me, I took the shades and cap just in case the paparazzi tried anything. 'Seriously..?' She laughed and looked at me. 'What? I don't want any attention thanks..' I defended myself not matter how ridiculous I looked. 'Fair enough..' She chuckled. We sat on the chair and I just took in the peace and quite. 'This is nice..' She smiled at me. 'It is for now..' I sighed. 'Hey just try and relax ok there's no cameras, why don't you tell me what you are planning on doing with me hmmm..' That's just it I had really no idea, it wasn't like I was planning on using her for that purpose anyway.  'Later we've gotta get going...'  I said while taking the rubbish and putting in the bin.
