8 Years Later...
'Scarlette! Get down here now!' my foster dad Jake yelled out from downstairs.
I sighed,'coming! Just give me a sec.' I plucked my earphones from my ears and shut the lid on my laptop. I ran down the hallway and slid down the stair railing.
'Record time,' he laughed loudly,' but we are only going to the shops.'
I laughed,' well, you promised you would buy me that new blue dress in Ally for my first day at school! Of course I am excited!'
I flicked my long blonde hair at my dad and gave him a photo worthy smile.
He shook his head jokingly at me and picked up the mustang keys,' should you drive or should I?' he asked me.
'Me me me me me me!' I shouted loudly.
He held up his hands in mock surrender and tossed me the keys. I quickly raced to the car and slid in to the drivers seat. I sighed happily at the leathery new car smell all through the mustang. My dad quickly slipped in and laughed at me.
'Are we going to sit here all day smelling the car or are we going to go buy you your new dress?' he asked.
I turned the engine on in response and backed out of our five car garage. My mustang always got the first spot. I quickly drove us to the shopping complex called Greenfield View, which dad always called it the shops, like we lived in a small country town. Greenfield View was the largest shopping centre in the state, and had any store you could think of. Dad and I always spent a day in there just exploring and looking for the best sales, we even competed to find them, but he always let me win.
I quickly parked my mustang in the VIP parking lot, and dad and I quickly entered the shops. Dad and I went straight to Ally first, because there was this blue dress that I had been dying to buy for weeks, and Dad said if i got good enough grades he would buy it for me. We went in and straight away I grabbed the dress to try on.
Then i saw her.
I saw my mother, her back turned to me, my dead mother.
I started screaming. Dad saw her too and he just held me tight as tears were streaming down my face. He let go of me to grab her, but she slipped out of his grasp.
Then i ran.
I ran after her like i was never going to stop, but she disapeared. All thoughts of clothing or a fun happy day.
I just saw my mother. My mother that was supposed to be dead. The mother i saw fall off a bridge eight years ago.
But now shes alive.
