Ch3 : New Home, Same Life?

A/N: This is Aedan. He looks adorable to me but remember, Emily is a lesbian so it's nothing more than sibling love :3

Emily's POV

Jack sent me to pack my bags but before doing so I went to see Aedan. I'm exited to leave but Aedan was family, the closest thing to a brother that I could think of. I arrived at his door and opened it. He was sitting at his desk playing happy wheels on his laptop. "Hey, Bro." He turned around at my voice, "Oh hey Ems. What's up?" He looked so happy, how was I supposed to tell him, "Aedan I have to tell you something. Um... I uhh.... I got adopted." His face turned very pale. He knew what happened to me the other times I was adopted and let's just say he gets VERY protective. "What are they like? Do they seem dodgy to you? What's their job?" Aedan started questioning me which I expected as it wasn't the first time. "Well he is nice, not dodgy and I think you should come down and see for yourself but I need to pack first. Can you help me?" "Okay, I'm coming." and we both left for my room.

After packing all my clothes and laptop, we walked downstairs to meet Jack... Sean... Dad? I didn't tell Aedan who he was as I wanted to surprise him, I mean, it's not every day that your idol adopts your best friend, right? I opened the door to see Jack signing my papers. I glanced towards Aedan and he was speechless, making me grin. Jack finished and walked over to me and Aedan with that familiar, energetic smile of his. "Jack this is my best friend, Aedan. He is also a big fan of yours." "Um... H-hi, it's nice t-to m-meet you." Aedan stuttered. "It's nice to meet you too and you can come and visit Emily at any time." chuckled Jack. Aedan took a deep breath and said something I wouldn't expect. "Um, Jack can I talk to you for a sec?"

Jack's POV

"Um, Jack can I talk to you for a sec?" asked Aedan with a serious look on his face. "Sure, don't see why not." We walked over to the corner of the room, away from Emily so she couldn't hear. "Jack, I've been watching your videos for a while now and you seem like a really nice guy, so please, take good care of Emily. She's been through a lot and I don't want anything bad to happen to her. Can you promise me that?" He looked at me with worried eyes. "I promise, I will do anything for her. You're a good friend for worrying about her." "She's like a sister to me.... Oh, one more thing." Aedan glanced towards Emily to make sure she wasn't ease dropping, "If she seems like she's hiding something or upset or something like that, keep an eye on her, okay? For any reason, just be careful because I don't want her doing something stupid." He looks kind of awkward while asking me this and I don't understand what he's talking about. "I will" was all I could say. 

Emily's POV

Aedan and Ja- Dad have been talking for a while. They finally stopped and came over to me and Dad spoke first, "Alright, do you have everything you need?" "Yup, I think so." I walked up to Aedan and gave him a massive hug and he hugged back, "I'll play with you every day and you can come over anytime, okay? and I'll still see you at school." "Of course you will and no matter what, you will always be my little sister. Call me if you ever need me." he says and I smile at his words. "I will." We let go of the hug. "I'll see you at school. See ya, Septic." "See ya, Bossatron. Let me know if you get adopted." We waved goodbye and me and Dad left Goldstone. As we entered his car I asked, "So where are we going, Dad- I mean Jack?" "You can call me Dad if you want," chuckled Dad, "and I thought we'd go get something to eat before going home. How does McDonalds sound?" "That sounds good to me." He started the car and drove to McDonalds.

Dad parked the car and we walked into McDonalds. We got our food and sat down at a table and got to know each other better, even though I already knew him quite well already. We were almost finished eating and Dad went to the bathroom. Some teenagers walked through the door. I recognized them instantly as popular kids from school. I tried to make myself look small and invisible in my seat but they must have noticed me. "Hey Alien, did you run away?" asked the tallest male named Luke. I try to ignore them but they surrounded my table. "Are you deaf or just plain stupid? What the fuck are you doing here?!" Spat the brunette called Chloe. If I stayed silent, I knew I was going to get another blow to the gut. "I was adopted." I muttered. They burst out with chilling laughter. "Now that is some grade A bullshit! Why would anyone want a retarded faggot like you?!" cried fat boy Kyle. "Who would be stupid enough to waste their money on a worthless piece of shit like you?!" sneered the red headed slut Holly. I was on the brink of tears when I heard another voice coming from behind me.

Jack's POV

I came back from the bathroom to find our table surrounded by a group of teenagers about Emily's age. I could hear some of the conversation as I got closer. "Why would anyone want a retarded faggot like you?!" and "worthless piece of shit like you" was audible from this distance and heat raised up inside me as I got a grasp on the situation. I had to say something, "Hey! Back off my daughter!" They span round to look at me and the blood drained from their faces. As I suspected, they ran of like the cowards they were. "Are you okay?" I asked Emily. She didn't say anything but just nodded and avoided eye contact. We left McDonalds and entered the car. We drove for awhile and I kept glancing over at Emily. She looked deep in thought with traces of sadness as well. I thought back to what Aedan had said to me.

"If she seems like she's hiding something or upset or something like that, keep an eye on her, okay? For any reason, just be careful because I don't want her doing something stupid."

Was this behaviour what he meant? and if so, I'm scared to find out what stupid thing she could do.

Emily's POV

All I could do was sit there in my own thoughts, arguing with myself inside.

They're right. No one will ever love you.

But Jack loves me! I can tell.

Why would he love you? He's only known you for a few hours.

He wouldn't pick me for no reason!

Or maybe just because you're a fan and he felt pity for you.

At least he would miss me if I was gone!

Would he?.... Would he miss you?

I may have a new home but it's the same life, just with Jack there instead of Aedan. I came back to reality as the car stopped at an apartment building. "We're here." Said Jack getting out the car and I followed. We climbed the stairs until we arrived at a door that Dad opened. I stepped in and looked at my surroundings. The door had opened to a nicely furnished living room with two red, leather couches, glass coffee table and 40 inch flat screen tv. "Wow, this place looks awesome!" "I'm glad you like it." Said Dad with a smile on his face. I went and gave him a hug that made me feel better. Out of nowhere, Dad said to me in a soothing voice "You are the most precious thing in the world, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I love you so much." And for the first time since my parents died, I felt like someone actually cared about me. "I love you too, Dad. Thank you for everything."

I felt a lot happier than I had been in the car and I think he could tell. He showed me around the rest of the apartment. We saw the kitchen and bathroom, his bedroom and entered another room that I could tell, judging by the panels on the wall, monitors and tripod, that this was his recording room. What I didn't know was why there was another desk with the exact same stuff on it. "What's this?" I asked pointing at the second desk. "Well, I was wondering if you would want to start a YouTube channel. I mean, I know you already have 'SepticEm' but maybe start putting videos on it." I grinned from ear to ear when he said that. "That would be awesome! Thanks Dad!" "Heh, no problem." We continued the tour and the last room was my own. When entering the room it looked quite plain with white walls and white bed covers but there was a desk in the corner with a new laptop sitting on it and a flat screen TV in front of my bed with a PS4 underneath it. "I know it isn't much but I didn't know what things you'd like, so why don't we go shopping tomorrow for paint and bed sheets?" "Yeah, that sounds great and thanks for the laptop, TV and PS4, even though you don't have to spoil me." He just laughs and says "Of course I have to spoil you, you're my daughter. Anyway, would you like to do a video with me so the community know who you are?" "Sure, why not." and we left to the recording room and I thought to myself, maybe it won't be the same life after all.
