Lucas

I sat patiently on the chair next to Emi's bed and waited for her to wake up. I stared at the small television that was perched on top of a stand next to a circular table. I felt a slight shake come from the bed, then a tiny whimper. I turned and saw Emi starting to scream in her sleep. I shaked her gently, hoping she would wake up.

She screamed louder and shot up from her laying position, breathing heavily while wide awake. I rubber her back slowly and watched her calm down alittle. Her knuckles turned white from being squeezed together too long. "Lucas..." she said as tears streamed down her face slowly. I wiped them away and stroked her hair gently, trying desperately to calm her down before anything bad happened. Her breathing became more softer slowly as I stroked her hair more. I hummed a quiet melody under my breath and watched her lay back down slowly, her body covered in scratches and cuts from the crash.

Emi
I stared at the ceiling while waiting for my heart to slow down. The colors on the tiles were almost hypnotizing due to their swirl and rectangular patterns that slowly danced across the ceiling. I felt my heart beat weaken but chose to ignore it and keep looking at the ceiling. When my breathing slowed drastically I knew something was wrong, I sat back up and gasped for air. "Emi!" said Lucas as fell I back onto my pillow and closed my eyes slowly, still gasping for the oxygen I need to live. I soon fell into a endless sleep as my heart stopped and my chest sat still. And to think just moments ago.

I was looking at the colors of another life that slowly ended mine.
