Chapter 8

Ava's POV

I feel darkness engulfing me. It feels blank and unexplainable. Well I 've always been afraid of the dark. I try to think of something happy and suddenly a picture comes to life. I see a girl who looks about 10 sitting with a beautiful lady and handsome man. There is also a little boy. They are near a creek having what looks like a picnic. They look like the picture perfect family. I can't help but feel envious of the girl. She has a family while I have none.

"Mommy this is yummy," the girl grins.

"Mommy knows how to cook, doesn't she," says the man.

"Yes she does. I love you Mommy and Daddy. You're the best," says the girl.

"We love you too, Avangeline." they whisper.

And then they stare past the lake as if they can see me and smile.

And then I hear voices in my head saying," Wake up Avie. We love you. We will always be here when you need us."

I try to sit up and open my eyes but I can't. Its as if I'm paralyzed or unable to move. It feels like my eyes are glued shut. After the third time they finally open.

I see five boys shouting. My head is pounding and I just want them to shut up. My wrists hurt so I turn to look at them and I see thick white bandages wrapped around.

It all come crashing back. The suicide attempt...the five boys...They seem familiar. Have I seen them somewhere?

I face them but they don't notice me. I whisper," Who are you guys and why did you save me?" They looked shell shocked at my question.

"Why wouldn't we save you? Its not everyday you see a suicide attempt,'' a boy with black hair and blonde streak in a quiff answers with a glare.
