"Hello, this is Maya Hart and you have reached voicemail. If- hey Lucas! Give it back!"
"This is Lucas on Maya Harts phone. If you are a potential suitor back of, and if not, leave a voicemail. Thanks!"

Lucas sat with his head in his hands, phone in his lap. He had called 10 times in the last 6 hours, and Maya had picked up none. Where is she?

She was Maya Hart, love of his life. They had met in middle school, and started dating in late 8th grade. They had continued for the next three years and now it was their four year anniversary. They were now juniors.

He had been waiting for her for 6 hours at their picnic spot. The first hour he just figured she was having a hard time getting there. That was at 12:00. Second and third, she must of forgotten, but he shouldn't go, maybe she'll remember. But now it was 5:00, and getting dark. She hadn't picked up his calls or texts. What was going on?

He packed everything up and checked his texts.
Maya, I'm here!
Hey babe, where are you?
Maya? It's been two hours.
Are you ok?
I'll wait till 5.
Still nothing.
He texted her again:
Alright, I am coming over.

He hurried and packed everything up. He sprinted out of the park and sped to her house, expecting the worst. He picked up the fake rock and grabbed the extra set of keys and let himself into her house. "Maya? Are you here?"

Then there was a flash of light and he whimpered and jumped down at the same time that someone shouted "Surprise!!!"

He uncovered his eyes to see a very happy, confused and concerned Maya looking at him. "Are you okay?"
He kept up and squeezed her in a big bear hug. "Y-your okay..." He whispered lovingly into her ear.

She laughed. "Of coarse I'm okay!" "I-I thought-" "Well you thought wrong. I'm fine! Did Zay not distract you?" "Zay? Maya, I was at our picnic spot! Did you not get my texts?" "Ummmm... Zay took my phone... He said it was best." "You really trusted Zay? He probably has it halfway across town by now." Theylaughed.

She turned away. "Actually, instead of a picnic, I made us an anniversary dinner. Care to join?" Lucas's stomach grumbled. "I would love to join you."
