To kill a creeper you probably need a weapon like a bow if you don't want to get killed but you can use a real helpful tool a sword a sword you need some sticks and whatever ore such as diamond gold iron or wood planks but wood planks are not ores ores you find ores underground. Wood planks you get from trees and trees are found not underground but above ground. Now to kill a creeper with a sword without getting blown up is to hit it once go back three blocks and hit the creeper again go back three and hit it again and once it dies it probably will give you experience sometimes gunpouder. Or make the creeper fall from a huge height or place lava.
