Flash's Light

Chapter 3

I looked up at Shining funny. "Wait— so just like that?" I asked. Cadence came in through the door, as well as Celestia. I bowed, giving off politeness.

"Your highness," I said. Celestia giggled. "Thank you Princess Twilight, but there's really no need for you to bow." she stated. I stood back up, an embarrassed expression across my face.

"Princess Twilight. We have observed Flash's behavior toward you. Once we announced to all of the Crystal and Canterlot royal guards, no guard was more excited than Flash." Cadence explained. "Princess Celestia and I have chosen Flash Sentry to be your guard. Any other guard wouldn't have been so excited. But he will need training. We will train him for the next two months."

I sighed, not happy to have a Pegasus pony that didn't have a wide intelligence. I'm usually not bothered by it, but it bothered me.

We ended up going into town, picking out a restaurant to dine at. I sat across from Flash, with Shining next to Flash and Cadence next to me. I decided to chat a bit, until I noticed something suprising.

"Hey Flash, I have to ask— is that Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom with Rumble?" I asked, a little surprised. Flash looked at me, then at the table they were at.

"Uh, was that the question you wanted to ask me?" Flash asked me.

"Oh, no. That was not." I got out of my seat and started to walk over to Rainbow's table.

"Well, uh... I guess I will just sit here... waiting." I heard Flash sigh. I immediately stopped, realizing that I had left him. I turned around and trotted back to the table.

"Sorry Flash, I just wanted to know how the Crusaders' friendship lessons were going. They wanted to start that summer camp, and I heard that Rumble wasn't participating all that well." I explained, sounding apologetic.
