It started as a normal day. Well, as normal as the abnormal town of Gravity Falls, Oregon can get.
Let's fast forward.
-----
The yellow, scalene triangle shaped dream demon rose up from the broken space rift, laughing maniacally.
"Finally, finally! The big day! The end of the 347234th dimension!" He continued laughing, opening up a huge "X" shaped portal in the sky. "Alright guys, time for one of our favorite parties!" He lifted up his arms, expanding the portal and letting the other demons escape.
"Oh no, we're too late!" The old paranormal expert Stanford said, in shock.
"I-Wh..." His startled nephew, Dipper, stuttered. "What are we going to do!?"
"Dipper, get in the basement now!" Stanford said. His nephew ran to the old vending machine inside of the old tourist trap, the Mystery Shack. He quickly put in the secret code (he had it in his memory, that little dork) and held it open for his uncle who was right behind him. His uncle basically jumped down the flight of stairs leading to his elevator. He input the four codes for the elevator. It slowly descended to the 1st floor.
"Come on. Faster!" He shouted at the keypad, obviously in a rush, who wouldn't be in one? The elevator opened, and he burst out of it. He headed towards a closet Dipper hadn't noticed, and input a code. It opened, dust clouds sprouting out of it. Stanford completely ignored it, Dipper gave off a few hearty coughs.
"Great uncle Ford, what's this all for?" He said, still mentally panicking.
"Supplies that could possibly stop Bill." Ford states, quickly adding a demonstration." Have you ever seen in your mindscape when Bill is defeated or leaves, he leaves with a circle around him, containing multiple symbols within?"
"Yes, is that related to this?" Dipper replied.
"Of course. All those symbols is a person. He calls the person by their symbol name. He calls you 'Pinetree' and your sister 'Shootingstar'. Is that correct?" Dipper nodded, approving of the question, "You two are two of the symbols. Except, there's a problem. If we were to defeat him, we would have to find all the symbols. I don't have a clue who the other ones are." He stated, some fear starting to show.
"It's okay, you can figure it out!" Dipper stated, with hope. "You know so much about the supernatural, I believe in you.
Ford nervously chuckled. "Yeah...." He looked to the ground.
-
The two put the items that were in the closet (Sort of headphone/mic things) in a camping type duffle bag. Ford carried it, and they soon make their way back outside. Ford had come up with a short plan that may distract Bill. When the symbols get together, they conjure a type of abnormal power that would destroy the demon, and trap him in the mindscape, never to escape again. The plan was to find Mabel and get her and Dipper to conjure a little of the power to faze Bill, for at most an hour. Then they could figure out the other symbols. Dipper saw Mabel run into the woods, so that's where they started the search. Ignoring the screams around them, they quickly ran into her. Literally, Dipper tripped over her. She was laying on the ground knocked out. With the space traveler Blendin Blandin also passed out on the ground, a few feet away from her. Dipper rushed to his twin sister's side.
"Mabel!" Dipper started shaking her, and the long haired brunette slowly woke up.
"BILL! SPACE DUDE! GALAXY! TIME BUBBLE! TRI....Dipper?" She screamed the first part, then she noticed her brother in front of her.
"Mabel! Thank goodness you're okay." Dipper embraced her. "Bill's attacking the dimension..." He nervously laughed. "Ford, you may need to explain it to her." Ford nodded and kneeled down. He told her in a 'non-sciencey way' that she told him not to talk in. He used finger motions, making it more appealing to her. He explained the symbols, the plan, and what (probably) happened.
"Alright. Have you got it now, Mabel?" Ford stated seriously.
"Yep!" Mabel said, sticking her thumb up and tongue out for effect.
"Good. Now, we've got to get into position for the plan to work." Ford said, and he raced for the shack, no one noticing the time-traveler who was finally conscious.
-----
Ford handed the twins a scribbled down conclusion of the plan, in case any of them got separated. The uncle was checking out the path, checking it's free of any demons. He signaled to the two twelve-year olds. 'It's clear' All of a sudden, they heard a loud roaring noise. A buffalo like monster jumped into their path. It was two feet taller then ford, had blood red eyes, grey spikes coming out of its back, two tails, and blood-stained hooves. It roared once more, and kicked the great uncle in the ribs. He quickly recovered, and grabbed a glowing spear out of his bag. He impaled it in the chest, and it poofed into air, leaving dust specks behind. Ford sighed in relief.
"We're almost there." As soon as the uncle said that, the ground around them shook, only in a circle area. The land was being lifted into the air. Maniacal laughter followed.
"Well well well!" The voice said. "Fancy seeing you, Pinetree. Shootingstar. Glasses." He snickered. "Oh, this is going to be fun."
"Don't touch them!" Ford angrily yelled at the demon. Bill.
"What makes you think I won't?" Bill floated over to the twins, and poked them both. "I touched them. What're you going to do?"
"This!" Stanford got a crazed look in his eyes as he pulled out his portal-shaped gun. He aimed it at Bill.
"Oh how cute. What'll you think that'll do?" Bill acted scared, but hen recited the words amused.
"End you. I will end you no matter what. I would give up my life fighting for this dimension, and these two behind me.
"That can be arranged." Bill took the charged gun, and aimed it.
Right at Ford's head.
-----
"Well, this is how it ends old pal, isn't it?" The triangle said excitedly. "I never thought I would be the one to end your miserable life." He snickered.
"I said I would die for this dimension, and my family. I meant it." He bravely said, accepting his doom. Right before Bill fired the gun, Ford threw the headset devices to the twins. They turned them on.
"Tell my brother I love him." Ford said, closing his eyes.
"Have a fun trip, Stanford Pines!"
Boom. The bullet went straight through Ford's head.
It seemed to go in slow motion.
Ford descended towards the ground.
Blood escaped from his forehead.
His glasses fell off.
He landed on the ground.
Stanford Pines was dead.
-----
The twins didn't know how to react.
Mabel risked so much to bring Ford out of the portal.
Dipper's goals in life were shattered.
The author of the journals, a great uncle, the legendary mystery hunter,
was dead.
They had no time to grieve.
The threat was still in front of them. The twins wiped their tears, nodded at each other, and activated them.
Their eyes turned completely white. They started to glow, and they slowly rose into the air. Their arms were spread, and heir hair was floating up as if they were upside down. Bill stopped suddenly, widening his eye. They were surrounded by a white glowing circle each, and a line connected them both. A white line shot out towards Bill, but it faded before it reached him. Bill processed what just happened, and he snorted. He started to giggle quietly, and that quickly rose to a full-out maniac laugh,
"OH-YO-OU GUYS THOUGHT... AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHahahahHaahh.." He couldn't stop laughing, and his laughter faded at the end. He wiped a tear. "Oh gosh, that was hilarious." The twins were terrified. The only chance they had of survival was gone. "I'm surprised you guys had that much power. You sure are powerful. It'll just be more fun ending your lives." He picked up a huge glass shard. "Who dies first? Hmmm......." He thought. "Eenie, Meenie, Miney, YOU." As he said 'you' his eye enlarged, and he was pointing at Dipper. He flung the glass shard.
-----
For Mabel, it all seemed to happen in slow motion. As the sharp object impaled Dipper in the lungs, he dropped to his knees. His eyes widened, and he fell forwards, his hands shakily held him on the ground. A terrifying, unearthly scream tore past his throat. As blood dripped from his chest, his sister sprinted over to his side. Her eyes started to flow, and she didn't even try to hold back her river of tears. "D-dipp-per" the female twin stuttered out. She almost lost him once, she won't, can't, loose him again. The only sound the long haired brunette could hear was the rasping of her brothers breathing. Dipper took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and coughed out at least a cup of blood. His arms gave out, and he fell onto his chest, only impaling himself deeper. Another scream erupted from his throat, this time weaker. His twin quickly turned him over. Mabel put her hand on his chest, feeling Dipper's raspy breathing. Mabel suddenly noticed his pulse was getting slower and his breathing weaker. Her tears were coming out faster, she could barely see. Dipper opened his eyes. He saw Mabel hunched over him, heartbroken.
"Mab-eel.."
"Dipper! It's okay, you'll be oka-"
"Mmm-abel, liss-ten...." She heard his chest heaving from the effort of speaking, and quickly wiped away her tears.
"Dipper..."
"It's okay." Dipper inhaled deeply, and released his final breath. Mabel couldn't believe it. Slowly, tears fell down her face, rapidly coming faster. Her brother was dead. She faced the stars, and let out a high pitch, devastated scream. A scream of lost hope.
There was no hope left for survival.
And it was her fault.
