Chapter One

Albus Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall stood on Privet drive as they slowly strolled closer to the house, disapproval set in Minerva's face as she listened to his absurd idea of leaving Harry with these muggles. As their conversation continued, shock set in at another absurd decision of the old man.

"Do you think it wise to trust Hagrid with something as important as this?"

The elder man smiled kindly, "I would trust Hagrid with my life."

She couldn't argue with him, so she was sent into silence until lights peered through the dark clouds above. Albus gazed up with her, smile still in place. While Minerva seemed unsettled, Ablus seemed quite happy. A large motorcycle broke through the fog, a rumbling sound shaking her nerves. It crash landed on the street with a crack, the back end sputtering thick smoke.

Even if Minerva seemed shaken by the motorcycle, the giant atop is seemed to be nothing new to her. Shaking her head, she glanced at Albus and Hagrid together. No wonder the motorcycle was having trouble, it was nothing in size compared to the giant. His beard was just as giant as him it seemed, bushy and tangled around his neck and face. In fact, because of his wild beard, the most you could really see were his twinkling brown eyes.

Expecting to see one baby lying in the blankets, she sped forward and went to pick them up as the giant, slowly moving off the sputtering machine. Hagrid bent to let her take the baby, trying to tell her something, but before he could, she broke the news to herself.

She stared at the two children inside, one a newborn, and the other the familiar Harry Potter.

"What is this?" She asked, eyes widening.

"Erm, it's them children Professor." Responded a confused Hagrid.

Then realization sparked in the giants eyes. Lilly and James had kept Danica a secret, wanting to surprise their professors and friends. Hagrid had accidentally discovered her pregnant when he came to visit with Sirius. Only the two of them were to find out, because she simply didn't invite anyone over for a while, but made sure to keep contact as always. The thought of James and her made his eyes water, poor folks.

Minerva turned to Albus who approached quickly, staring down at the two of them, Harry's arms still loosely laced around the infant.

"Ah! The baby was born! I'm so relieved." Dumbledore exclaimed cheerfully.

Minerva, still lost looked to the two.

"How did 'ye kno--" Hagrid didn't finish. Professor Dumbledore always knew.

Eventually, Minerva became irritated. "Now tell me, what is the meaning of this?"

Hagrid stayed silent, while Dumbledore explained. "Minerva, this is Lilly and Jame's daughter. I believe she was just born not days ago. Don't fret," He smiled. ",they were going to tell us. They just wanted to surprise us."

The disgruntled woman calmed herself again. She didn't like not knowing things. It was upsetting. Now that she knew, it was simply upsetting. Such young souls, having to go on without their parents.

"I see," She said in a stiff tone. "Please, Dumbledore, leaving two children here? With muggles?

Dumbledore sighed softly, shaking his head. "Minerva, it is for the best. You must trust me."

"But Harry will have to leave for hogwarts before... her," She pointed at the baby.

" 'er names Danica." Mumbled Hagrid quickly.

She only nodded before continueing. "We can't simply seperate them. They've already lost their parents."

Dumbledore seemed to take this into consideration because he rubbed his long silvery beard for a few moments, looking downwards before he popped a lemon drop into his mouth. He sucked it thoughtfully, eyebrows pushing together.

"I see your point. In that case, I will have Danica come to hogwarts with Harry. We will plan living arrangments, and possibly some early classes for her." He looked back up, smiling at her. She looked relieved, even cracking a smile in return.

"Thank you."

Hagrid had been too busy looking down at the children to pay attention to their conversation, but had noticed something set into Harry's forehead.

"Professor Dumbledore, sir?" He spoke up in his gruff voice.

Dumbledore turned with Minerva and turned their attention to Harry where Hagrid's was as well. They needn't ask anything more, spotting the mysterious bolt mark on his forehead. Minerva seemed surprise, looking him over to see if he was injured anywhere else. Seeing nothing, her eyes returned to the lightening bolt scar.

"Voldemort has marked him, I see. There is nothing I can do. However, we are lucky he wasn't severely harmed." He brushed the black hair from his eyes to fully reveal the scar, the moonlight bouncing off it.

"Was Danica harmed?" Minerva asked, but went to check for herself. She found nothing, which was a relief, but also saddening. "It seems Harry took the blow for himself. Such an amazing child."

The two obviously agreed with her, but suddenly, Hagrid started to sob. "I'm gunna miss 'em." He sobbed on and they were forced to take the children from him so he could take out a large white hankerchief to blow his nose. It sounded like a train.

Comforting him with one hand, Dumbledore led them to number four, Privet Drive. Minerva held Danica and Dumbledore held Harry, but as they reached the door, Minerva seemed more and more resistant to let the baby go into such a home. It wasn't her decision, of course, so she would have to let them. The only comfort she had was in he fact that she would be able to see them both again, entering the halls of Hogwarts when Harry turned eleven.

Dumbeldore gently laid down the child on the doorstep, under the warm light of the porch, wrapped in a tight blanket before he turned to Minerva. She begrudingly bent and let the baby by her brother, both of them wrapped tight and warm together. He reached into his long robe and produced a small letter, letting it down onto the two bundles blankets.

'A letter?' Minerva thought, her anxiety rising. 'A letter will explain what has happened and what we expect of these people?' She bit back what she wanted to say and look one last look at the two before pulling out her wand to head home, to Hogwarts. Dumbledore took his time putting back the light in Privet Drive before he too, returned home after a smile to Hagrid as the giant took off to return the motorcycle.
