It was evening time by now. The Sun was as hot as Capricon's anger back in Capricon's village. The three keep walking as far as they can. But the heat, fear and hunger were preventing them to do so. Lisa finally breathed out and worded out, "It's enough I guess. We've been walking for so long. I think we need to eat something and rest for a while, Shall we? We are not afraid of Basta anyways right? He's far away tied to a tree."
"I guess you're right. Resa also seems to be exhausted. We should take a rest for sure to reset for mood and body." said Dustfinger while putting Gwin down from his shoulder. Gwin slept on his shoulder for all the way. That little Marten felt that shoulder was like a ready made bed for him. They had their meals packed up before leaving the Capricon's village and they sat under a tree, enjoying whatever they had packed. But they had to leave as soon as possible to get as far as possible. After a while of enjoying the meal, they went off to the lands again. The pain in the legs, they forget as quick as they remember Basta's name on their lips. They had walked enough for now.
"For Lord's sake," said Dustfinger angrily, still half-crying "what's here is not bad enough, isn't it?" For although the evening air was hot and thick, but a clear blue, with a pattern of insects whizzing this way and that across it, everything else- tress, bushes, earth was gone under the moving masses. But Dustfinger preferred not even to think of those men. With a bit of another luck, they hoped Capricon's other men would not come travelling down just this way. But they yet hope it would rain very soon, to spring some new grass or otherwise they would die of heat instead of Basta's fear.
He felt like a survivor after war- if this devastated and mangled lands were ruined by the attacks.
They had ate their supper with good appetites and did not felt hunger for all the way.
"It could have been worse," was what they said. "It could be much worse."It was getting dark as the sun was setting down, They now could see foggy structures far away.
"That must be a village." Dustfinger had his smile all over his face again thinking that they could hide in any of there. With that being said, They had their feet going as fast as a horse running onto a battle. They felt like it was all over and they'd be just free and Resa would be getting back to her home. But how?
They were now in a Village. People here were different. But enjoying themselves. People in Capricon's village, Everyone was a busy bee there and would not have time for their families and other social works, perhaps because of Capricon. There were people sitting outside of their houses that were enjoying their tree while their wives were gossiping and giggling.
They felt comfort just looking at these happily people. Dustfinger hoped that Basta or Capricon never enter this place, or this would become a barren sadness land too.
They went by thinking who should they ask help for. They all seem to be nice people. But, there was a man sitting on the chair all alone with no family or kids beside him. They thought there might be some place in home for us.
"Hello, Dear sir. We are new to this place and we don't know anybody. Can we spent a night or two at your house, We'd be grateful to you for this act of kindness." Exclaimed Dustfinger.
The man was already smiling looking at Resa and Lisa realizing they were all dirty and exhausted. Then he got his glanced at Gwin, looking at his horns he got a shocked and kept looking into the eyes of Dustfinger for a long time.
"Ahm Ahm." Dustfinger cleared her throat to wake the man up from the dreams he was into.
He was glancing Dustfinger for so long as to realize that he know him or even saw him somewhere."Yes, I'm all alone here too, I'd be glad if I had visitors. So I guess you can come over and spent as long as you want." cried the old man.
The house from the inside was broken, There was a chair to the right of Dustfinger, still swinging as a person is sitting on it. the house was two story and their were candles all over the house and books everywhere. Books on shelves, Books on the Kitchen, even on Sofas and on hanging on decoration stuff."Dustfinger, Oh My Gosh, You are Dustfinger." Cried the man looking into Dustfinger's face.
"Sorry sir, I have never met you. In fact I'm even not from here at all. How do you know me?!" Dustfinger feared and was in shock at the same moment.
