*Amara P.O.V*
Making my way downtown, walking fast, faces pass and I'm home bound~
I hum quietly to myself. I really like Tokyo, the people, the food, the atmosphere and the most important thing, the cute clothes they have in here! It's crazy to even think this ward, ward 20, has even ghouls in it. No one here looks like a ghoul (unless you're talking about that binge eater) and that's the best part!
No one can discover me that easily.
Well, I do have to give myself up at some point anyway. That's what Ma told me.
Walking down the street under the glittery glazed night sky, I sigh in relieve, finally getting away from my past. It was horrible. So much betrayal, pain and suffering. Well, it doesn't really matter now, does it? I mean my family and I aren't planning to move back anyway. We can stay here since my mother is a Japanese. Smiling out of content, I skip down the street, earning a few weird glances along the way. I am on my way to buy groceries, it is our 2nd week here in ward 20 and everything have just started to settle itself in my brain. I get lost sometimes but then that always end up with my brother finding me in a corner of an alley, playing with a cat. With a grocery list in one hand, a map in my pocket and a wallet chained to my wrist in another, nothing can stop me now!
"MOMMY!!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!"
Except that...
Widening my eyes at the sudden piercing scream of a little boy, I dash off to where the scream came from, finally ending up in a typical dark alley way. There, a little boy hid behind a rusting trash can, watches with tears and fear in his eyes as something devours his mother. His tiny hands trembling, trying to reach out to her but is too scared to even extend itself 1 cm from its original place. His mother, unable to call out but seem to be still alive, mouth out the word "run away" as much as she can. Her hazel hair covered with blood and it only seems like her legs are gone. Still, good enough. This ghoul is slow.
"Hey, uh... I think you're not supposed to do that" I interrupt this ghoul's nightmarish way of devouring the lady.
"Yeah? Who the fuck are you? Never seen you before so fuck off would you before I rip you throat out" he snarls at me while gulping down a handful of meat. The lady, who's surprisingly not dead, sobs quietly.
"Yeah, but come on man, there's a tiny kid here. Have some manners" I glared at him, pointing to the small boy which is now staring at me.
"Manners, eh? Here, I'll teach you some then you can fuck off!" he screams at me and lunges for an attack, his koukaku kagune forming into a spear and tries to impale me in the head. Luckily, I ducked down before it happen sending him to an empty dumpster. My kakugan quickly manifested itself in my left eye, my blue koukaku-rinkaku kagune, filled with red and purple blotches, expelling themselves out of my back. You can say that my kagune looks like the lily of the valley flowers that is yet to bloom. Fat at the base and sharpens at the tip. They, of course, can extend and form into normal tentacles but it's not that pretty.
But there is a surprise inside~
Smirking, the base of my koukaku kagune crack themselves open to the tip of it to reveal a feather like cells inside. These cells works like magic. Only my family, father side, have them. Basically, if one of these feathers touches a living thing, it will affect their brain with this enzyme because once the feathers touches the skin, it will seeps into it. This enzyme will only then respond to my kagune, leaving them under a mind-controlled stage. It's not only for my koukaku kagune, but also for my rinkaku kagune. Since releasing these feathers are highly tiring, I have to end this quick.
Jumping to where the mother's body lay, I grab a handful of these feathers and place it behind her head, putting her to 'sleep' while I scoop her up into my arms and putting her beside her little boy. The boy in return hugs his mother's body tightly, crying out loud.
Turning around, the ghoul-man charges at me, trying to impale me once again but of course, as I had said, this ghoul is slow, which results in me lowering myself, him 'flying' on top of me and I took the chance to stab him with my rinkaku kagune which turns themselves into tentacles. My kagune pierced his torso, earning a pleasant scream from the ghoul. Sending him flying to yet another dumpster, I rushes to where the pair of human are and picks up his mother while taking a hold of the boy hand before running out of the alley, returning my left eye back to normal.
Why did I skip PE class before?!
I think to myself, panting while running straight towards the police station, with the mother on my shoulder and holding the boy by the hand on the other, I scream out the fact that a ghoul had attacked the lady. Help is soon brought by the authorities and I manage to slip away quietly while the commotion is still roaring. Before sneaking away, the little boy grabs the hem of my shirt and with tears in his eyes, he smiles and thank you. I nod and continue to make my escape.
After getting far enough from the police station, I start to walk back home, smiling. Reaching the apartment gate, I realized something horrifying.
I run back to where I was heading.
Getting groceries.
