Just Take My Hand

*Dawn's POV*
I woke up slowly in my room and yawned quietly and got up and stretched I heard my mom yell downstairs "Dawn breakfast is ready!" I yelled back "Be down in a minute!" I slipped out of my pjs and put on black skinny jeans with a pink shimmery top with my white flats. I quickly brushed out my dark blue hair and practically ran down the stairs my mom smiled "In a rush?" I nodded and quickly ate and grabbed 2 pokeballs and my mom looked confused "What's the rush dear?" I laughed nervously "Paul messged me for the first time since Ash left for Unova so it's been years. I mean sure we liked and commented on each others pictures online, but it's gonna be the first time i've seen him in a while."

My mom smiled "Ah Paul then, you like him." I felt my face grow pink "I-I don't!" I said defensively she just laughed "Alright Dawn whatever you say, i'm sure that you like him after all your 16." I just grabbed my bag and ran outside and yelled "Whatever mom, i'm going to Veilstone city, bye mom!" She nodded "Bye Dawn." I tossed out a pokeball and yelled "Togekiss spotlight!" The fairy flying type appeared and I smiled and gently climbed on it "To Veilstone city!" It lifted into the air with ease and in 10 minutes I could see Veilstone city and I said "Togekiss land by the pokemon center." She did as she was told and soon I was on the ground and I said "Thanks Togekiss return."

I looked at my Pokewatch it was 10:45 'He said to meet him by the gym at 11 so I should be heading that way' I thought to myself and I walked towards the gym. Soon I could see the gym in my view and I sped up a bit and soon I was waiting by the door and took another look at my watch 'Already 11:10 he's late.' I sat on a bench and tapped my foot lightly with impatience. Then I heard "Hey Dawn.." I turned to look at the purple haired male who called my name. I got up quickly "Hey Paul.." He stood there quiet for a second and I said "Your late" He shrugged "Got busy doing something more important." I felt a small stab in my heart and thought 'Of course he has something more important than me that he needs to worry about, is it a girlfriend maybe?' I felt a small sting of tears in my eyes but I forced them to stop forming.

I just nodded "Alright Paul whatever you say, what did you want to talk about?" Paul stepped close and before I knew it he was right in front of me his face a few inches from mine and I felt my face grow warm. He simply whispered "Dawn come with me for a second." I felt my face grow warmer and said "Why?" He sighed and said "Just take my hand." I didn't respond for a second and he sighed and took my hand in his and lead me towards Eterna forest and I thought 'Paul is holding my hand, he's actually holding my hand!' I tried to calm myself down and breathed deeply and quietly and soon we were inside the Eterna forest and I seen where he was was heading and I squeaked in terror and said "Not that creepy house, Gardenia says it's haunted and I think so too it's just so creepy and I don't like it. Besides who builds a creepy house in the middle of the forest?! That's just scary!"

Paul just laughed "Scaredy Meowth much?" I tried to keep a straight face "No it's just creepy and gives me the goosebumps." Paul shrugged "If anything tries to hurt you i'll protect you." For some reason I felt myself blush for a second and I thought I saw Paul's face have the slightest shade of red on his face, but before I could confirm it, it was gone. I felt a bit disappointed but the next thing I knew we were inside the creepy house and I shivered slightly and whispered "Paul i'm serious I don't like it here, why are we here in the first place?" He just continued to drag me inside the house and soon we were outside one a backyard. I looked around and whispered "The place looks like someone was here just recently it's really clean and is that.." I ran towards a small pond and sure enough there was a small pokemon I grabbed my pokedex and it read "Eevee the Evolution Pokémon. Because its genetic makeup is irregular, it quickly changes its form due to a variety of causes." I almost squealed "Paul it's an Eevee!"

He laughed quietly "I thought you would like it." I looked at him confused "Huh?" He shrugged "The Eevee is for you." I felt shock run through my body along with a warm feeling. I looked at the Eevee and smiled "Hi i'm Dawn would you like to be my pokemon?" The Eevee started running around in circles and nodded its head happily. I laughed and said "Okay then here it goes" I pulled out an empty pokeball and said "Pokeball go!" I lightly tapped it on Eevee's head and the ball shook three times and then I heard a click. I grabbed the pokeball and whispered "We're going to be great friends." The pokeball nodded slightly and I smiled. I put the pokeball holding my newest friend in my bag were it would be safe. I felt my face grow a little pink when I looked up at Paul and before I knew it I attacked him with a hug and I whispered "Thank you Paul..." He seemed so shocked at first before he slowly wrapped his arms around me and I felt my face grow a light shade of crimson.

I didn't want him to see my face so I hid it in his chest while I hugged him tighter. Soon I felt his head right on mine and he whispered "Your welcome Dawn.." I felt my face grower warmer so I could continued to hide it. I felt Paul's fingers run through my hair and I slowly looked up at him and he looked down at me and smirked. I looked at the floor embarrassed and soon I felt my face being tilted up and I looked at Paul in the eyes and thought to myself 'Mom was right, I do like Paul and alot.' Shyily I lifted my hand and gently caressed his cheek and smiled. I noticed his face grow a light shade of crimson and I giggled knowing that I caused it. Then I thought 'Was Paul getting shorter or am I growing taller? Both our faces are so close. Oh my Arceus! He's going to kiss me!' Before I thought about pulling away I didn't because I realized I wanted him to kiss me.

I gently got on my tippy toes and met him halfway and I felt his lips on mine and it was a sweet and passionate kiss. I melted into him and wrapped my arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around my waist and holding me closer. The kiss lasted a few minutes before he pulled away out of breath and I felt my face a deep shade of red and I quickly looked at the floor. When I looked up he was looking at me blushing harder and I smiled and laughed. He just stared at me "What's so funny?" I stopped laughing and smiled "You Paul I didn't think you could blush since your always so serious." He laughed quietly "Yeah I see your point."

Then he pulled me close and I burried my face in his chest and he whispered "I love you Dawn." I stood there shocked and finally managed to whisper "I love you too Paul." I remember what my mom told me once a few years ago 'Don't be surprised on who you fall in love with. Love is a crazy and wild. Just let it happen.' I decided my mother was right. Then Paul said "Dawn.. you have to go back to Twinleaf town soon don't you...?" I felt my eyes sting with tears and I whispered "Yes but I don't want to go back I want to stay with you." He whispered "Do you think Barry would let me stay with him for a bit? Or I could ask Lucas and or maybe Professor Rowen?" I looked at him in shock "You want to come to Twinleaf town?" He smiled "If it means being closer to you then yes." I hugged him tighter and I felt a few tears escape and he wiped them slowly. I then thought to myself and gasped "Paul I think my mom has an empty guest room if you would like to stay. I'm sure she wouldn't mind. My dad and her moved together when they were 15. After all my mom would be there and i'm sure she would treat you like another member of the family." Paul seemed to be debating and finally nodded "I think that works." I almost squealed again and He laughed quietly.

I looked up at him and smiled "Thanks for the Eevee Paul it was sweet." He smiled "Your welcome Dawn I knew you would like it." I nodded and I felt myself go on my toes and kissed his cheek. He laughed and then pulled me closer and kissed my lips and I kissed back gently and thought to myself 'I have alot of explaining to do when I go back home to tell my mom. I'm sure she'll say yes though and if she doesn't I'll force Barry to have Paul stay with him.' I almost laughed out loud but didn't and kissed Paul back passionately. I wasn't going to let anything ruin this moment...
