Over the next few days, I stayed in that wooden building, which I learned is called the Homestead. Various girls came to see how I was doing, but they never talked to me. The only one that ever did was Lily.

"How are you feeling" she asked me once again.

"Hungry. Thirsty." Was my immediate answer.
She left the room for a moment, leaving me alone. A few minutes later, I heard a noise in the hallway. Assuming it was Lily back with food and water, I sat up. It was Lily, but she wasn't alone. She was helping a girl carry somone in.

A boy.

Lily had told me that there were only girls here, and that a new one, called a greenie, was sent up every month in that metal deathtrap that tried to kill me. I refused to call it the box. It will always be metal deathtrap.

I turned my attention back to the boy, who was already on the bed. He was handsome. And familiar.

I wanted to know why there was a boy here, but Lily was busy talking to another girl. So I eavesdropped.

"What happened?"

"The box came up early, and there was a boy."

"Well, I figured that much out."

"Don't be a shuckin' smart Aleck with me!"

"Then tell me what happened."

"I thought it was just supplies, but then I heard everyone gasp."

She paused for a moment, and Lily said "Uh huh, go on."

"So I ran over and there was a boy. We pulled him out, and he was unconscious. I thought he hit his head like that girl."

"Hey, my names Anita."

"Shut up."

"Shuck you." I said while doing the middle finger.

"Lily, make her shut up."

I started laughing. Lily was flipping the girl off, and said "Shuck you."

The girl, whose name I didn't know, said "Why does she have to be in here?"

"Because I'm awesome." Was my reply.

"Yes, she does have to be in here." Lily said.

"Why, she looks fine to me?"

"Because I said so."

"I wish I could put you both in the slammer for being sassy."

That was enough for me. I got up and felt dizzy but kept walking. When I was about 3 inches from her face I said "I think YOU'RE the sassy one. You just can't keep your mouth shut, can you?"

I guess that was enough for her to, because she slapped me. And I kicked her shuckin' ass.

When Lily finally pulled us apart, I had a bloody nose. And the other girl had a black eye and a split lip.

Another girl, who I recognized as Sonya, came in. She took one look at us and said "What the hell?"

The other girl said "She started it.". She sounded like a shuckin' baby.

Sonya gave me a questioning look when Lily cut in.

"It was both their faults. Gabby was being a klunk head and provoked Anita, who, apparently, has a short temper.

"But it was mostly her fault!" Said Gabby, who looked like she was trying to fake cry. What a baby.

"Gabby!" Sonya snapped. "Put a shuckin' sock in it!"

Gabby sat there and pouted while Sonya asked Lily what happened. Lily explained and Sonya looked at Gabby.

"You, slammer, a week."

"B B But it wasn't my fault." She whined.

"Now!"

Gabby solemnly walked away.

"As for you, I don't blame you. BUT, I do have to punish you. Slopper. One DAY."

"That doesn't sound that bad." I said. But I guessed it was because of the look on Lily's face. Pure disgust.

It was terrible. I would rather spend a week in the metal deathtrap. I don't even want to talk about it. Let's just say, it was nasty.
