He comes in and notice that she's throwing up all over the place. He asks Clark what to do. He tells Matthew to go get three pregnancy test and have her take them. When he gets back she takes them one hour apart and sure enough each one came out positive.
Matthew could see the fear in her eyes. So he stays by her side the way till they go in for there first doctors appointment. And they are told the might have a baby boy. They come back to the one that tells them exactly what is and it's a boy.
When they go in to have him, he ends up being a premie and dies. Ester took it so hard she stayed in the room. Until her dad and brother came in with her husband and said Ester we know how bad it hurts and come we need to get you something to eat. She soon forgets about how bad it hurts and goes to lay down and Matthew follows her and they both change into night clothes.
And lay down face to face. She kisses him and tells him sorry for not being able to give you a kid with out it dying. He looks at Ester and says it not you fault babe there was nothing that we could of done. We will wait a little before we have another kid.
She looks and says no I want to give you a kid, I at least owe you the joy of having a kid. He finally says babe you don't have to push yourself I know you still hurt from your parents dying and now are son Jesse . Ester looks at him and ask when did you give him that name. Matthew said my dad and brother wanted a boy named Jesse and it's my favorite boy name.
When he says that it hurts Ester so bad that she begins to beat herself up and he sees her and grabs her and asks why are you beating yourself up. Because you like the name Jesse for a boy and you gave it to are died baby boy. Instead of what should have been are baby laying right here in this room. Matthew tells Ester that it's not your fault babe stop beating yourself up.
