The Silvermist Wolves Bk.1 Ethan's Unexpected Mate

CHAPTER 2

AVA

This is stupid, Ava thought as she drove through the thick dense forest that lead to Silvermist village. 

Upon returning to her hotel room Ava decided that since plan A didn't work that she would go with plan B...going into werewolf territory, risking everything.

Ava could hear at least three wolves following her getting ready to attack so she stopped, got off her bike and turned toward the woods. "I don't want any trouble I just want to talk to your alpha." She stated.

Ava heard a growl then twigs snapping as three men came out of the woods. "What is your business here?" the man in the middle asked. 

"I'm here too see your alpha." Ava answered and stared at the man in the middle, hazel brown eyes staring back at her suspiciously as he passed his hand through his honey brown hair.

The other two werewolves at his flanks were look-ah-likes, twins with waved gold hair and green eyes.

"My name is Ava Delaney, Peter Delaney sent me."Ave broke the silence.

The twins face showed surprise."Did you say 'Delaney'?" The twin on the left asked.

I nodded and the three glanced at each other and the man in the middle said "Follow us."

With that said  they shifted back to wolf form and started to run. Ava mounted her bike and followed them. They shifted back to human as they walked into the village. The guy in the middle turned left as Ava followed the twins into a large building. Upon entering she saw a large table with twenty plus chairs.

"Wait here." The twins said and left.

ETHAN

Ethan drove up to his childhood home as Lily ran out to meet him. Ethan got of the van just as Lily flung herself into his arms.

"Flower..." he murmured as he hugged her. Tears welled up in Lily's eyes, Flower was the nickname Ethan and his twin Evan had given her after the Lily of the Valley.

Ethan followed Lily into the house. "Lily I don't mean to be harsh but I'm not here to stay, ok? I just wanna find mom and dad, then I'm gone." He said as he sat on a stool in the kitchen.

Lily poured them some lemonade and sat down. She sighed. Ethan could hear her unsteady heartbeat as she began to speak, "Two weeks ago mom and dad took a trip to a newly formed pack southwest of here and dad returned home a few days later without mom. I tried to make him talk to me bout he wouldn't. He just packed a few things mumbling something about mom missing and left. I didn't know what to do and I was going crazy here not knowing so I called you."

"He didn't say where he was going?" Ethan asked.

"No..."Lily got up and left the kitchen only to return with a burnt piece of paper, "but he left this in  the trash." Lily gave him the paper. It had a logo on it. "I don't know what it means but maybe you can find out." Lily said as she sat back down.

Ethan opened his mouth to reply only to be interrupted by a man with hazel eyes and honey brown eyes.

"What's up Chase?" Lily asked.

"A girl is here to see the alpha. She said that Peter Delaney sent her." Chase answered.

"Did you say 'Delaney' ?" Ethan asked chase who nodded and than continued, "Let's go. I want to meet her."

AVA

Ava could feel his presence...her mate. He's here, she thought shocked. Having a mate right now complicated things. Ava heard movement from her place by the window and looked up to see two pairs of translucent blue eyes staring at her. In front of her was the guy that had spilled is beer on her. His scent hit her like a sledgehammer. No it can't be, Ava thought, "Shit..." she murmured. There was a moment of silence. "Hello...I'm here on personal business with the Alpha. May I meet him?"

"What is your name?" The guy from the bar asked.

"I am Ava Delaney of the Dark Claw Pack and last surviving dark wolf." Ava answered.

The guy, her mate replied. "I am Ethan Blaze, this is my sister Lily..." he pointed to the girl at his side, "and I am Alpha at present."

"Forgive me but I was told that the Alpha was ah...older." Ava said.

"He is...but he is not here at the moment and so I'm standing in until he returns." Ethan answered and gestured to a chair, "Please have a seat and tell me why you are here."

Ava sat down opposite to her mate and started to speak, "Peter is my father and as you know he is dead. He once told me that is I was ever in trouble specificity find this pack..."

So yo are in trouble and want help." Ethan interrupted her.

"yes." Ava answered. "The vampires that killed my pack are after me and I'm tired of running and hiding so I need help."

"Why do they want you?" Lily spoke for the first time in Ava's presence.

Ava could feel Ethan's eyes on her so she found herself telling the truth. "I have the key to a hybrid vampire werewolf species."

"Hybrid?!" Ethan stated shocked.

Ava  nodded and waited for their answer.

ETHAN

Ethan still couldn't wrap his head around that fact that the girl fro the bar, Ava, was here, in his village, knew about his people, is a dark wolf and  and was asking for their help against vampires. He looked at Lily who nodded as if understanding his unspoken question and found himself saying "Ok...we'll help you, but only because you are Peter's daughter."

Ethan could see the relief on Ava's face as she said "Oh... thank you so much."

"You can stay at our home until we find a solution fro your problem."Ethan stated. He felt that Ava wanted to say something so he raised an eyebrow at her.

He saw her intake  of breath as she said "If there is any way I can repay you then please do not hesitate to ask."

"Why can't I smell you?" Lily asked, cutting into their conversation.

Ava froze for a moment but managed to say "The key that I have forces me to have no scent."

Ethan didn't know what to make of her answer but decided that when Ava was ready she would explain. "Lily will show you to your room." With that said Ethan walked out of the room leaving everyone staring at his exit.
