15 minutes of loud music and constant yapping, courtesy of Y/F/N, we finally pulled up to the cinema.
Outside was a table and chairs, (presumably for the cast) posters, paparazzi and a fairly descent crowd. The time was around 5:30pm and the cast were expected to arrive at around 6:15pm to take photos, sign posters and meet fans.
The longer we waited, the larger the crowd grew, expanding into a wide ocean of posters and fan made shirts like mine and Y/F/N's. The longer we waited, the more annoyed I was becoming of the persistent shoves and squeals I receive from the newly forming mass.
Suddenly, a roar rose from the crowd as a black stretch limousine pulled up beside the ready made red carpet. I watched as the crowd pushed forward nearly knocking over the fences and guards.
There was already a queue starting to appear as the cast members emerged from their hiding.
"Are you coming Y/N?!" Y/F/N said.
"No I'm fine. I'll wait till the line is shorter." I say as she walks away.
"Suit yourself!" Y/F/N skips off to join the line as I find a nearby bench to plonk myself in as I wait.
Then my phone vibrates.
I took it from my back pocket. It was Thomas. Thomas Sangster had texted me.
THOMAS:I can see you!
*Ok kinda creepy*
Y/N:how can you possibly see me through that jungle of neon and screaming fans Mr. Sangster? And may I ask how someone such as yourself have the time to message me?
I pushed send and within a few minutes I received yet another text from Thomas.
THOMAS: Well my love, I just happen to be very close to a beautiful girl who isn't lining up to get an autograph from her absolute favourite person the world...😏😊
I giggled to myself and the replied to his cheeky message.
Y/N: well that's nice of you to think that Kaya is beautiful. I'm sure she will be thrilled to hear this. And I don't seem to see Dylan so...😁😂😊
Before I had chance to press send I felt a slight tap half shake on my right shoulder. I glance over to see who it is, but was blinded by the sun.
"I thought I would find you here." The figure said in a strong British accent. I blocked the burning light with my hand, even though it was maybe 6:30pm, the sun still shone brightly. I then observed a slim boy with dirty-blonde hair and a smile that stretched from ear to ear.
"THOMAS!" I scream jumping upright from my chair and embracing him in a tight hug.
"SSSHHHH! You're gonna get us bloody bombarded by the scary mob of women!" He half-whispers, trying not to laugh at his own joke. "Do you want last times incident to replay itself?" He laughs.
"Sorry!" I apologise. As I look at him, memories flood into my brain from the first time we met.
————————FLASHBACK——————
I stand alone against a wall. I watch as squealing girls move one at a time, towards their celebrity idols, taking memorable selfies and getting autographs that would last them a lifetime. I try to count how many people stand in front of my cousin just to pass the time. I came here with Y/C/N (your cousins name) because we both loved the book series The Maze Runner, by the amazingly talented James Dashner, and when we heard that there was a film being released, we jumped with absolute JOY!I was diverted from my thoughts as I hear a motorcycle pull up behind me. Nobody had turned around to acknowledge the loud engine roaring. They must have been caught up in Dylan O'Brien's smile.
"Hello. " I turned and saw a familiar face, except I didn't know this face, I had just seen it somewhere. I decided to be polite since there was no one to keep me company except my thoughts.
"Hello" I said.
"So are you here to see the movie?" The person had a British accent. Their voice was deep so it couldn't be a girl. I turned to get a better look at him. I find myself staring at Thomas Sangster. I was stoked to see him in person, but I was more so confused to see him this late for a movie he was starring in, and a premiere that he was supposed to attend on time.
"What?" He says. I realise I I have been staring longer than I thought. I ducked my head and blushed a little, hopefully not letting him see.
"Nothing, it's just," I paused, trying to find the right words to say to this megastar. "aren't you supposed to be up there with them?" I say motioning past the gathered crowd to where the cast of the film sat. He looked in the pointed direction, then looked back at me and smiled. I smiled back.
"Aren't you supposed to be up there, with them?" He laughs as he points to the crowd of screaming girls. I let out a laugh and shake my head.
"But really, why the bloody hell are you here by yourself?" He asks.
"I'm not here alone! I'm here with my cousin. Y/C/N."
"Oh are you? And where is this, cousin, of yours I may ask?" He said leaning closer. Enough that our arms have the slightest of room. I search the sea of bright colours and fidgety people. I point him in the location of Y/C/N. He follows my outstretched finger and then smiles. He looks at me. He stares at me.
I finally break the awkward silence. "Can I help you?" I say as my eyes wander elsewhere.
"Sorry it's just..." He was cut off.
"ITS THOMAS SANGSTER!" Bellowed a young fan girl. With that being said a flock of die hard fans raced towards him. Towards us. He grabbed my arm and yanked me along with him.
"RUN!" He shouts. We bolt towards the building which was thankfully clear, but not for long. We ran as though we were being chased by a pack of grievers during the maze, twisting and turning corners to avoid capture.
"THIS WAY!" He screams as we duck into a room locking the door behind us.
The room was bare. It had only a couch, coffee table, tv and a small kitchen with a fridge. Thomas slumps onto the couch trying desperately to catch his breath. I move toward the fridge and open it to reveal fizzy drinks, fruit and a few more snacky things. I grab a drink before asking Thomas.
"Drink?" I ask. He looks behind him eyeing the can suspiciously then replying.
"Sure. Why not?" He puffs between breaths. I hand him a drink. "Thanks." I sit myself beside him.
"No problem."
"I never really got your name." He states furrowing his eyebrows. He looks kinda cute when he does it.
"Y/N" I say. He grins like a goof.
"A gorgeous name for a gorgeous girl." He winks. I blush at his comment and turn towards the door.
"How are we ever gonna get outta here?" I say my eyes still fixed on the door.
"Not too long hopefully," he tries to reassure "the security will get it under control."
I let out a sigh. "Well I guess your stuck with me till then!" I say. He grins.
"I guess so." I let a smile slowly creep across my lips as these words were spoken.
