"Oh cmon Liam it wasn't that bad"I throw a piece of popcorn at my boyfriend,who was shaking on the other end of the couch.
"HE GOT CUT IN HALF"he yells and I laugh.
I turn off the tv and go into the kitchen to make a cup of tea.We had just finished rewatching an episode of Scream,the tv series.We both have seen the whole season at least twice,but that episode gets him every time.I fill the pot and turn on the stove.As I'm doing that the doorbell rings.
"I got it!"Liam says from the living room.The door opens and I hear Heys and Hellos being said from my group of friends.One after the other they come pouring in,dressed in their usual styles.
Scott,Allison,Stiles,Div,Kat,Newt,Malia and Mak.My sister Valerie comes running down the stairs in her uniform,she was a deputy and worked with stiles' dad.
"Hayden,I'll be back tomorrow"she says coming over and hugging me.
"What happened?"I ask her.
"There was a murder,a kid from the high school"she says,throwing on her coat.
"Is my dad gonna be out tonight?"Stiles asks.My sister nods and heads out the door,before turning back.
"Stay safe,the murderer is still out there,lock the doors and stay together,okay?"I nod and close the door after her,locking it.
"Well after hearing the delightful news,I say we watch a scary movie"we all stare at Stiles,who stood there smiling.
"It was a joke guys chill,we should probably call our parents and stuff,let them know about what's happening."everyone goes off too a corner to call their parents or siblings.My phone buzzes and I look down to see 'unknown caller'Flash across the screen.
"Hello?"I answer.
"Hello,Hayden"the voice says.
"Hahaha funny Jim,I know it's you with your voice modifier app"Jim was the school prankster and he does this all the time to me,knowing I'm the horror geek,I'm about to hang up when the voice says,"Don't hang up"in angry tone.
"Jim just stop"I hang up.About 2 seconds later my phone buzzes.
"What Jim?!?!?"I ask.
"I'm not Jim,why the annoyed expression".
Shit.
"Can you see me?"I ask,closing the curtains,everyone gives me a concerned look.
"Well not anymore,you closed the curtains."he says with a low laugh.
"You wanna play a game,huh?Lets get it over with,Asshole."
"The games don't start till tomorrow"he hangs up.
"Who the hell was that?"Newt asks.
"I don't know,possible chance it could be the psychotic killer that might be outside the house."I say walking around the house,locking doors and windows.Closing every curtain in sight.
"Wait,are you sure this isn't some prank?"Scott asks.
"Scott,I don't think someone would prank someone the same exact night someone got murdered.Just trust me?"he nods and I go upstairs to lock the windows up there too.
I look under my bed and find my small stash of guns and other goodies.Being a fan of this kind of stuff,changes you.
I bring the huge suitcase Down stairs and I plop it on the kitchen table.
I open it up and everyone's eyes go wide.
"Jesus Hayden"Div says looking at all the weapons.
"Take a couple,I will not let anyone get hurt."my knowledge from all the scream movies and episodes that the killer aims for all the people that are most important to the main character,or the person he or she calls the most and plays with their minds.
I guess it pays off watching all those movies and doing your research.
