"Ok now I know I'm dreaming. First my hand catching on fire in the sun, then me growing fangs, and now my mom is saying she turned me into a vampire. Yeah I'd like to wake up now!" I rambled as my mom sat at the table with her hands in her lap watching me pace back and forth, my fangs retracted.
"Sweetheart, you're not dreaming." mom said calmly.
"I would like to wake up. Anytime now!" I said waving my arms looking to the ceiling.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. I jumped slightly as I looked at the clock on the wall. Four o'clock already, that would be Sapphire but I should be dreaming. Shaking my head, I ran my hands through my long black hair. The knock came again. I went to the door and let my best friend in.
"Hey Kye, you don't look so good. Are you ok?" she asked as my eyes were trasfixed to the pulse just under the skin of her neck.
My mouth began to water at the smell of fresh blood. I started to lean forward.
"No, what are you doing!?!" I mentally shook my self. "I'm not a vampire!" I thought.
"Um, yeah...no I'm fine." I said closing the door.
"Honey, you didn't say you were expecting company." my mom said walking into the living room.
"Oh well, I kind of couldn't get it out with you babbling on about making me a vampire." I said.
"What? Did I miss something?" Sapphire said completly confused.
"Mom thinks she turned me into a vampie. How, I don't know and I highly doubt it is even possible. But what ever she did, I burn in the sun now, like literally catch flames and I grew fangs. I say I'm dreaming." I explain.
"Buttercup, if you're dreaming then we are having the same nightmare where my best friend is a vampire. Don't eat me!" Saph said her fear polluting the air smelling like burnt oranges.
"I'm not going to eat you. You know I can't stand blood, I puke!" I said as just saying the word makes my mouth water with want.
"Honey, drink this. You'll feel better." my mom said pressing a glass of red liquid into my hands.
It smelt amazing. I gulped it down without a second thought. After I finished the glass Sapphire was looking at me with disgust and her face was an unusual shade of green.
"Saph, are you ok?" You look like you're going to be sick." I said with concern as I stepped closer to her and she took a step back.
"Kyerie, don't! That was blood you just drank." she said frightened.
"No it wasn't. Mom likes to experiment with vitamin drinks. She's always made them since we were thirteen. You know this." I replied.
"Then why does it look and smell like blood to me? Oh gosh! I think I'm going to throw up." she said rushing to the bathroom.
I followed her and held her hair out of her face as she began reching. I rubbed her back soothingly as her lunch came back with vengance.
"It's ok, just let it out." I whispered, the smell making me feel sick as well and I was never one to get sick over someone else losing their previous meals.
When Sapphire was done she flushed the toilet and I grabbed a rag running in uder cold water and ringing it out before placing it on her neck.
"Feel better?" I asked her, she nodded and turned to the mirror over the sink while washing her mouth out of bile.
"Kye?" she said.
"Yeah?"
"Look in the mirror."
