Cassandra's POV
"What the hell are you doing!?" My Uncle, Mike, screamed as he pulled me up off of my bed by my hair. I yelped loudly before he covered my mouth with his grimy right hand.
"Just sitting here. I'm sorry." My response was muffled by his hand before he pulled it again and ripped me, by my hair to face him.
"You better be sorry." He got in my face and that just pissed me off. I spit in his face and tried to get away, but utterly failed. "You bitch." He wiped my saliva off of his face and slapped me in the face, hard, with the same hand before shoving me to the hard cold floor. I wiped my face with my right forearm, my face stained with tears.
"Screw you." I mumbled, not loud enough for him to hear exactly what I said. He grabbed my hair and pulled my face upwards.
"What was that?" He asked, his voice laced with anger.
"I said I was sorry Mike." I lied. Like I was gonna tell him the truth. He pulled my hair tighter, pulling my face closer to his. He brought his right hand back and slammed it across my face. I cried out in pain and flew sideways.
"I told you not to call me Mike bitch." He said, slowly, but still filled with anger.
"I'm sorry Uncle Mike." I added extra emphasis on the Uncle part.
"That's better. Now get the hell up. Chris is on his way to town." Mike said before walking off out of my room. I let the tears fall freely from my eyes as I rubbed the left side of my face. And then his words registered... "Chris is on his way to town." The words kept repeating in my head.
He's coming back to town. After 10 years, he decides to come back now, of all the times I have needed him. Now? He can't do that to me, this isn't fair. What he did isn't fair. I needed him and he just left like it was the easiest thing in the world.

Later That Day
I sat outside on the front porch after just fiercely been beaten by my Uncle for not doing the dishes and stared out into the sky.
**Flashback**
"Cassie, it's time for me to leave baby girl. I can't stay here anymore. I love you Cassie. Please forgive me." Chris said as he hugged my small frame tight against his taller frame.
"Where are you going bubby?" I whispered. "Can you take me too?" I smiled with hope in my eyes.
"I'm going away. I don't know where yet, but I can't stay here." He paused for a moment before continuing. "I can't take you Cassie..." He kissed my forehead for the last time and climbed out of my window. That's the last I saw before I fell to the ground holding my face in my hands. I cried and cried. I couldn't stop. I didn't understand what was going on. All I knew was that my big brother left me here...alone.
"Chris... Please come back." I whispered before I cried myself to sleep.
**End Of Flashback**
My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a truck pulling into our driveway. I looked to see who it was and I couldn't make his face out, but then he climbed out of his truck and walked towards me. It was Chris. Anger filled my body and I clenched my fists as he came closer. I stood up from my seat and he was a mere 3 inches away from my body. He reached for a hug, but I pushed him away.
"Don't touch me. Don't talk to me. Don't bother me you heartless asshole." I said before walking back into the house.
