Vincent's pov

"so what is it I don't know" Peru asked continuing with what we left off of.

"right now isn't the time how about we talk about this later..are you hungry?" I asked trying to change the subject. How was I going to tell her that Amelia was my first and only love. That by her having the same features as Amelia, made me start having slight feelings for her. It would be wrong and out of line and could cause pain in the long run. May be I should keep my distance for the better of her and I.

Walking toward the kitchen, I asked one of my maids to fix Peru something to eat.

"man this is all weird finding out my mom is a witch and my dad's a vampire. It's like i'm living in this supernatural life full of unreal monsters I wonder what else is out here." she said eating a bowl of oatmeal.

"Monsters is not a nice word to call us it makes me feel evil and to answer your question, no there aren't any other supernatural creatures." I stated taking the seat right in front of her

"so you're telling me that there are no werewolves and spidermans out here" she said looking totally shocked

I busted out laughing literally tears streaming down my face kind of laugh.

"no the only thing you could get to a werewolf are the wolves in the woods at night and trust me there aren't any spidermans in the world at all. I said covering up from my laugh.

She shrugged and said,"hey just asking you never know what's happening these days".

She turned back to her oatmeal playing with it like she was done with it. Her cheeks were moving from side to side as if she was thinking about something.

"why are you staring at me" asked Peru looking up at me facial expressions blocked.

"what are you thinking?" I asked still looking at her.

"you mean to tell me that you aren't reading my mind?" she asked surprised

"no... I decided to stop reading your mind and give you a little privacy" i said truthfully.

"wow i'm impressed i felt as if you were stalking me" she said playfully

"ha ha" i  stated sarcastically "now tell me what's on your mind before i change mines"

she blew out slowly "it's nothing...it's just i  was looking back on my life before i knew all of this. It may have been far from perfect but it was better than this.For all i know one false move and the whole army of vampires and witches will be after me...this is just so much to take in" she said with tears coming from her eyes.

I walked over to her from where i was sitting pulled her face into my hands and said,"i will never let anyone hurt you. I will protect you until i cant breathe" and it was true i would protect her with my life ..well what's left of it because Amelia of course she reminds me of her.

"I wish i could read your mind you know listen to what you're thinking"she said knocking me out of my thoughts.

"trust me you wouldn't want to know what i'm thinking"

"you know Vincent you are very sweet .. i thought you were going to be stuck up because you have a big house with maids" she said looking me in my eyes

"well never judge a book by its cover" i told her wiping the half dried up tears from her face. My eyes traveled to her lips then back to her eyes. I wanted to kiss her ,but i would be betraying Amelia i promise that i would never stop loving her and by kissing Peru, it  would mean i told lies.
