~Reader POV~
Pain. That was the first thing I felt as I woke. It was cold, it was bright. I was lying in the snow, freezing, in great pain. "Are you alright?" I heard a deep voice ask me. It was strangely familiar, but I couldn't seem to figure out exactly why it was so. I forced my eyes to open, seeing my hero, the one and only Mark Edward Fischbach. "Miss?" He asked once more.
"Oh, uh, yeah, I'm okay." I spoke. Raspy. When was the last time I had something to drink? "Do you have any water?" My voice grew more and more scratchy each time I made a speaking noise.
Mark fumbled around in his jacket, pulling out a small canteen. "Here." I carefully took it, drinking some, making sure he still had some. It was cold, but it felt good as it traveled down my esophagus.
"Thank you." I said with a cough, returning his water to him. "Are you.. Markiplier?"
Mark simply nodded, putting his canteen away. A sudden shiver went up my spine, drawing his attention back to me. "Are you cold?"
Stupid question. "V-Very." I began shivering and shuddering, teeth chattering painfully. "V-V-Ver-r-ry c-c-co-col-ld-d." I knew I was about to go into Pneunomic Shock. The sudden cold was too much for my body, and I felt my world returning to the black it had been in not too long before.
~Markiplier POV~
I watched, helplessly, as the poor girl I'd just found blacked out. I quickly covered her with my body, looking around frantically. "Somebody, help!"
The girl - I'm going to call her Dawn - continued to shiver under me. I stared at her, worried for our health. What was she even doing in LA, in the snow, at -30°F? (A/N: Yes, I realize it doesn't snow in LA, but the snow is an important part of the plot.) It didn't make sense.
Quickly picking her up as her shivering increased, I ran to find my shelter. "Shit, shit, shit, shit, SHIT!"
