Guardian Angel

~Mark POV~

It had been a few days since I'd found Dawn, and she had barely eaten anything. Jack still hadn't woken up; but he was in stable condition. I focused my attention on Dawn, who was muttering to herself as she watched Jack. That reminds me, what was she doing in LA? I'd have to ask her.

"I don't know, Mark.." Dawn looked at me, her eyes sunken and hollow. It made my gut twist in guilt to see her like this. "I was in my home in (h/t), and I went to sleep. Next thing I know, I was here." She stared directly into my soul, as if daring me to reply.

"Oh.." She turned away from me, changing Jack's bandages. I hope he's okay..

~Flashback~

"Jack, where's Matt?" I asked, looking at him. "He was with you when you left why isn't he with you now?"

"Mark.." Jack choked on a sob, "He.. He jumped infront of a Beast when it was about to kill me. He fuckin' sacrificed himself for me..!" He looked so empty. "It's all my fault, if I'd have been paying attention, he'd still be here!"

I clenched my fist and slammed it on the table, leaving a mark. "Goddamint, you FUCKING IDIOT!" I snapped at him, I was just so... angry. "How could you let him die like that?! He didn't deserve that!"

Wade tried to stop me, "Mark, it's okay, Jack knows what he did wr-"

"NO HE FUCKING DOESN'T!" I turned on Wade. "I can't fucking believe you, Wade! Bob and Cry have been gone for days, and now you're fucking fine with Matt being dead?!" Wade was shocked, "You know nothing, either of you!"

~End of flashback~

I blinked away the tears that were threatening to fall, that was the last time I spoke to Jack before this. That was when I found Dawn, I'd taken a walk to clear my head. But why the fuck did Jack leave the shelter?

~Jack POV~

Pain, lots of it, and guilt. Those were the only things I felt right now. I got Matthias killed, and Mark hated me for it. I wouldn't be surprised if he never wanted to be my friend again.

"Jack?" Who was that? It was a female voice, and it seemed to be leading me to a light. "Come on, wake up.. Mark and Wade are upset, they need you." She clearly didn't know what happened. But I listened to her speak, "Mark is crying right now, I don't know why, but he looks really guilty. He needs you right now." Mark needed me? He was crying? "I know you're in pain, and you're probably really scared right now, but we're all here, waiting for you to wake up."

My eyes shot open, I was in the trailer. There was a (h/c) girl sitting next to me, wiping her eyes. "Mark really needs you right now.." It was the girl with the light!

"Are you an angel?" The girl looked at me with wide eyes, blushing. "'Cause I think you just saved me."

~Mark POV~

Jack asked if Dawn was an Angel, what a flirt. But it wasn't flirting..? No, he was dead serious, he thought she was an Angel. I walked over, standing next to her. "Jack, this is Dawn.. She's the reason you're still alive.." That was all I could mange without crying even more.

Dawn gave a sheepish smile, "I-It's what anyone w-would have done.." She scratched the back of her head, blushing. "J-Just trying to h-help out the boy who s-saved my keister." She shot me a grateful smile and got up. "I think you two need to talk, I'll just be over there, talking to Wade.." She rushed off.

I couldn't help it, I started crying. "Jack, I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have snapped at you, this is all my fault.."

Jack just stared at Dawn, "Are you sure she's not an Angel? I heard her talkin' ta me and leadin' me back here." He looked at me, then back at Dawn.

I shared his glance and cracked a sad smile, "She looks like one, doesn't she?" We both let out a light laugh as Jack nodded in agreement. "Certainly acts like one, too. Maybe we were just given a Guardian Angel."

I couldn't kill Jack, he's too adorable and doesn't deserve it.. But news time!!
