Chapter 1

The boy sat in Music Room #3, brooding. The Host Club had closed for the day sometime ago, and everyone was getting ready to head home, but he didn't want to leave. To leave was to face the fact that he would be heading home, not somewhere to hang out with Kanra. Besides Tamaki, she was the only one that could see through his facade, and she did it well. He had barely been able to sleep the other night after she ended their relationship.

"Hey, Kyoya-sempai?" A familiar voice made itself known. He looked over to see the somewhat still new addition to the Host Club.

"Yes, Haruhi?" He asked, keeping the dullness from his voice.

"Is there something wrong?" She asked. "You've been brooding since club hours ended."

"Was I?" He asked, somewhat taken aback. He wouldn't have thought that anyone else would notice.

"Well, is there?" Haruhi asked again. The boy sighed before allowing a nod. A very small, short nod. "Is it Kanra?"

"How did you know about...?" The boy looked at her with shock. He thought that no one had known about the two.

"It was pretty obvious, at least to me," She stated simply. "Just the way you looked at her and the way you slow down when you're walking past her during the fairs." She smiled slightly at that. "So, what's going on?"

"I'd rather not discuss it," He said, standing up and collecting his things. "It's a rather private matter."

"What's a private matter?" The twins, Hikaru and Kaoru, asked in unison.

"Who's Kanra?" Hikaru asked.

"Isn't she that one albino chick?" Kaoru pondered.

The boy sighed, adjusting his glasses. Looking over, he noticed Tamaki slowly making his way over to them, with Hani-sempai and Mori-sempai following.

"It seems I'll have to discuss it after all," He said, sending Haruhi a glare. The club practically circled around him like it was story time. "Kanra Shitsuji. She's in the same year as Tamaki and I, in Class 2-D. She is an albino, and she wears very special contacts to help with the light sensitivity as well as special lotions, creams, and sunblock. She and I started dating 3 months ago, and over time, she and I developed rather stong feelings for each other. The other day, we had an argument, and she ended things between us."

"So that's why I heard all that wailing in the courtyard," Kaoru said. He sent his twin a pointed look, but Hikaru looked away, pretending to whistle.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Kyoya," Tamaki said, being extremely apologetic.

"Is Kyo-chan gonna be okay?" Hani asked, looking up at Mori. Mori gave a nod.

"Alright, men!" Tamaki exclaimed, drawing everyone's attention. "We can't allow a fellow member and his dame to suffer like this! We must help them reconcile!" The club members, excluding the boy and Haruhi, nodded. "Operation Get Kyoya and Kanra Back Together (a.k.a Operation Kyoya's Second Chance) is now in full effect!"

"Alright!" The twins said in unison. The boy sighed.

"Um, sempai," Haruhi said. "Don't you think Kyoya-sempai and Kanra should settle this on their own?"

"Nonsense!" Tamaki said. Haruhi sighed and the boy groaned, rolling his eyes.

"She has a point, Tamaki," He spoke up. "Remember that most, and by most I mean all, of your plans always go completely out of proportion before fixing anything."

Tamaki gave him a horrified look, then began to brood in a corner. The boy sighed, knowing that Tamaki would have done that sooner or later.

"There will be some conditions," He stated, adjusting his glasses. Tamaki looked up at him and barked like he was some puppy.

Meanwhile, the girl sat by a fountan in one of the courtyards, in perfect view of the Music Room #3's windows. Today had been one of the hardest days of her life. Especially since she had no where to go. She had thought of going to the beach, but that reminded her of Kyoya. It seemed everything had reminded her of Kyoya. She'd even seen him during recess, and whenever their eyes met, even though he hid it, all she saw in those black depths was misery and pain, an exact mirror of her own. To know that she was the one causing it only caused her to feel guilty.

She felt a pair of eyes on her, and she looked up to see some girls standing in the corner, talking, all the while never taking their eyes off of her. She sighed, rolling her eyes and looking up at the windows of Music Room #3. Kyoya was in there.

She slowly got up, gave one last look at the windows, and could have swore that someone was looking back. Curiosity got the best of her, and she made her way into the high school building, walking down halls and up multiple flights of stairs on her way to Music Room #3. She knew it was where the Host Club was (where Kyoya was), but she wanted to find out who had been looking at her through those windows.

When she got to the doors, her heart was pounding and her stomach was in knots. Should she do it? After all that had gone down the other day, would it seem like she had come to apologize, like she was giving in? After all, she still loved Kyoya. She knew in her heart that even if she and Kyoya didn't get back together, she would still love him.

Bringing her wits about her, the girl pushed down on the doorknob, and pulled the door open.
