A Run Down Memory Lane

Next day, Danny had to take me to Breakfast Club at school. Our mum and Phil's were going to London for the day, and Daddy was off to work. Mommy got me ready to go while Danny was getting out of bed.

I sat in the living room eating a bowl of cheerios while I waited for Danny and Phil.

When they came in, I started talking, "Danny I'm glad you're taking me to Breakfast Club. "

" Why's that? "

" You're much more fun than mummy or daddy. "

"What time does your school actually start Tilly?"

"Around nine, but breakfast club starts at seven-thirty and we have to be at the playground by quarter to nine"

"Ok Turnip, put your shoes on"

"Turnip?" Phil asked, confused.

"It's a nickname we have," Danny replied.

Danny and Phil continued to have a conversation while I put on my shoes. Something about Danny being stuck with Phil all day.

As Phil came over to me to help me with my shoes, I heard him say, "Well that's for when we're alone." I wonder what he meant? Maybe it had to do with him tickling Danny.

I stood up, Danny held out my bag for me, and we left the house, Danny locking the door behind him. I took off running down the road, "C'mon Danny, you're so lazy!" I giggled.

Philly started to catch up to me, and soon was a few steps ahead, "I'm faster than you Tilly!" He shouted.

Danny called out, jogging behind us, "Quit running Tilly!"

I stuck out my bottom lip and reluctantly walked back to Danny, Philly at my side. "Don't encourage her," Danny said to Phil.

"C'mon, let the kid have a little spirit," Philly said, sticking up for me. He then challenged me to another race.

Before I could take off, Danny caught my shoulder strap, "Don't run off, it's been a while since I've gone to Oakland, I don't remember the way."

I looked into his eyes, "That's okay! I'll show you, we can race Philly!"

I started to run again, "Come on turnip, you're gonna make me lose!" I shouted.

"You won that round Tilly," Phil said, out of breath. "So you finally took my advice huh?" He asked Danny.

"Yes I did," Danny replied. I didn't know what they were talking sbout, but j could see the playground up ahead so I just kept walking.

I loved this playground, and Mummy says Danny did when he was my age too. The playground was quiet, and I walked right past it, but Danny stood still. Philly said he looked like a looney, which I thought was a silly way of thinking about my brother.

Danny started walking again, and we went inside to breakfast club. I opened the door to the classroom and was instantly greeted.
"Hello Tilly, who have you brought along today, yo- Daniel, Phillip?" Mrs. Everton said.

"Good morning Miss Fanning," Danny said, and Mrs. Everton corrected his mistake of her name.

"Look how you've both grown," she held up her hand, "Last I saw you, you were this high!"

"And you're still friends too!"

Philly snorted.

"Look at you taller than me now, and skinnier too! Both of you," she continued on.

I chimed in (A/N with a haven't you people ever heard of...), " Every day I come here she asks me how you are."

"That's right Tilly."

"I still remember this room from when we were in year 1," Philly said to Mrs.Everton.

"Do you?"

"Yeah, it looks a bit different now, but it's still the same room."

"Oh! I almost forgot, Daniel could you sign next to Tilly' s name please?" Mrs. Everton held out a paper for Danny.

"You boys will have to forgive me, I got excited at the sight of you two."

"That's alright Mrs.Everton, " Danny said handing back the sheet. I gave him a hug and hugged Phil before turning to play with the other children at breakfast club. "Goodbye Turnip."

Danny and Philly left and I continued to go about my school day, which was pretty uneventful overall.

HELLO EVERYONE HAPPY NEW YEAR AND ALL OF THAT STUFF I MISSED SINCE AUGUST I'M SO SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG FOR ME TO UPDATE AND I'LL TRY TO BE BETTER ABOUT THAT OK? OK

But seriously, I'm going to try to update more often.
