A girl stood in the snow, her long brown hair flowed in the cold wind. Half her bright red boots were buried in the cold snow. The sun was setting, a bright orange glint reflected from the sparkled snow. The sky was purple and orange, he clouds shaded with pink. The girl smiles at the beauty. Her light blue eyes sparkled in the light and her skin was tanned. Her sweater and sweat pants flopped in the wind. She ignored the freezing conditions and continues to watch the day end slowly. A boy watched her from behind, he was sitting at a glass table on the porch. Even though he was worried for her getting sick he couldn't help but smile at how happy she was. His black hair blew a bit but not as much as hers. He twiddled his hymns together and thought about her and him. They had been together as a couple for years, and years to come he hoped. A year went by and it was winter again, but this time they were both inside together. Surprising for winter being the girl's favorite season, but they were preoccupied. The fire burned bright, illuminating the room with red. The boy put his hand to a small ones head, the new born child opened her eyes and starred at her parents. He boy caressed her delicate head, the girl couldn't help but shed a tear of joy looking into the young babies bright blue eyes. The baby held her finger tight, refusing to let go for anything. That night the parents talked about the baby.
"She's so delicate..." The boy said, "I don't know what to do.."
"She'll always be delicate... She was born that way... But we still love her.." The girl answered, putting her hair into a bun.
"Yeah but, I'm scared I'll hurt her... And her cough will only get worse..." He exclaimed with the worry obviously building.
"It's ok, Davis.. You'll do great, she'll love you..." The girl said smiling and outing on her jacket. "And we'll always work together". With that she left the house and stepped into the car. The boy, Davis, walked into his room. Next to the bed was a small fenced up bed, where a baby slept soundly. He walked over and stares for a moment.
"You are as beautiful as your mom..." He said kissing her forehead and covering her with the small pink blanket made by his mother.
