~one day before the Concert~
"Ughhhh, are we there yet?" Blaire asked while sitting up in her seat to look out of the window. I turned down the music that was playing while Kitty turned onto the street that the hotel was on. "Yes. This is the street." Blaire's face lit up in excitement. I don't blame her though because we've been driving for three hours to get to the hotel that's close to where the concert was. We parked up the car and went to our hotel room. "Room 312 on the second level. Do not loose your room key okay guys?" Kitty said while handing us each a room key. I nodded and set my stuff down on the bed closest to the window. "Hey, I wanted the bed beside the window." Blaire jumped onto my bed and rolled around in it, causing my stuff to fall. "We can share okay? There's two beds anyway so one of us was bound to end up bunking with someone." Kitty giggled at her victory of having a bed to herself.
After we all finished settling in, we decided to go get some food from IHop. On the way to the restaurant, we passed by a cute little coffee shop which I insisted on going inside before we went to go get food. "Oh come on you guys, look at it. I want some coffee from here. Stay in here if you want." They agreed to staying in the car while I went inside to get us all coffee. They told me what they wanted and with that, I went inside the tiny shop. It smelled of fresh out of the oven pastries and warm ground coffee beans. There were a few people in line and two people working at the counter. I got behind the last person and looked at the menu. Well, at least I tried. I was too short to see it and the man in front of me was in my way. He must of saw me from the corner of his eye struggling to see on my tiptoes because he turned around. "Sorry, would you like me to move? I didn't mean t- Jenn? Is that you? Do you remember me? It's Tony. Tony Perry from seventh grade. We were turtle buddies!". It recalled to me that I did remember Tony. I had the biggest crush on him for four years but then he moved to California in ninth grade. "Oh hi! It's been forever. How are you? What are you doing here?" He smiled and took a step further in the line. "I've been good actually. I'm here with a few friends and I stopped here to get some coffee. I couldn't sleep and I have a big day tomorrow." I looked at the bags under his eyes. It looks like he's been stressed out about something but it would be rude to ask. "Oh yeah, me too. I'm actually here for my friends birthday. She loves this band and they're playing a concert tomorrow so I bought tickets." He excused himself while he ordered his coffee and payed for it. When he was waiting for it, I ordered the drinks and walked up beside him. "Oh that sounds fun. A concert. She must be happy she has a good friend to take her to a concert." He chuckled. "I'm actually going to a concert tomorrow as well but then when its done maybe we can catch up. We use to be good friends when we were younger and at the moment, I can use an old friend." I nodded and agreed to meet up. He told me his number and when the drinks were made, we said our goodbyes and with a hug, I was out the door.
I hopped into the car and gave Blaire and Kitty their drinks. "What took you so long?" Blaire asked while putting the straw in her iced drink. "I saw an old friend."
