"May, hi."

"Hi, Jade."

"We haven't really talked in a while, have we?"

"No, I guess not. Listen Jade-"

"I know."

"Please Jade, just gimme a chance."

"May, it's okay, alright? You were drunk, he was probably cute...stuff happens. You don't need to keep apologizing."

"But it is my fault. I hurt you, didn't I?"

". . I won't say no."

"We'll..we'll still be friends, right?"

"Yeah, of course."

"Then why have you crossed your fingers behind your back?"

"Oh, there's no two ways about this. . .I'm moving, May. I'm shifting to the next town. Dad's getting worse, and I'm running out of time to save money for him. So we're moving closer to the hospital to get him admitted. I'll find some odd job there."

"And the shop?"

"Sold."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"Um..then, can I get one last daffodil? A reminder of everything we used to be, and could've been, but never were."

"Sure."

"And..I, uh, got this for you."

"Violets. Faithfulness."

"Thanks for being faithful Jade, even when I wasn't."

"You're welcome, May."

"Uh, anyway, what do I owe you for the daffodil?"

"You don't owe me anything, alright? Remember that for me. That's all you owe me."

"Oh, Jade. I guess this is goodbye, then."

"Goodbye, ma'am. Have a nice day."

"I'm sure I will. It was a pleasure."

"Same here, miss. Same here."
