One Year Ago

Kelsey's Pov.

The day started out as perusal, only today was the day my brothers best friend Luke was supposed to find his mate, seeing as he was turning 16. I on the other hand, had already turned 16 but seeing as no one cares, I didn't bother looking for my mate. I hope to the Moon Goddess that is not him.

I know that I'm not pretty, I'm told everyday but I always try to look my best even though everyone but my parents hates me.

"Kelsey! Get down here! Mom and Dad said I have to drive to to school" My brother Travis yelled up to me. I check my outfit one last time before grabbing my phone and bag and rushing downstairs where my brother was waiting for me.

"Good morning Travis." I said to my brother, but he didn't hear me because he was sucking face with the girl that hates me most, Angelica. The makeup faced skank using my brother for his title. Or as I like to call her in my head, Miss Skank.

I waited for about 5 minutes looking at the ground until they broke apart, gross.  

"Oh look, If it isn't the pathic little winey bitch" Was the first thing I heard come out of Miss Skanks high pitched mouth, that had bright pink lipstick smudged around, along with my brother. Again eww! All my brother did was laugh.

'If it isn't the high pitched bitch' I thought to my wolf. She chuckled and agreed. I smiled inwardly to myself in satisfaction. The ride to school was... Well gross, Miss Shank kept sliding her hand up my brothers thigh. I'm actually glad we got to school when we did because she was to close for my comfort to his crotch. And he almost moaned! Eww!

As I was getting out I seen all the skanks and bitches at Luke's car fawning over him and he was being his bastard self and basking in the so called glory. When I looked at him, I felt something tingly inside my chest. 'Mate' my wolf yelled happily, well that was until she seen who it was. Now, I'm not stupid and I know hes going to reject me, so instead of getting hurt and humiliated. I turned and ran without anyone noticing. I knew that he figured out I was his mate. So I just ran.

Luke's Pov.

I smelled her. At first I didn't know who it was but then when I looked I seen it was Travis' sister Kelsey. Holy shit! No! I was about to go and rejected her but she ran away, why? 

My wolf answered 'She and her wolf think we're going to reject her' I was about to ask him how he knew that when he continued,

'Her wolf told me' I replied with, 'How did her wolf tell you? Our wolves can't communicate before we accept each other' and I knew that as a fact, 'Shes the black wolf.'

Wait, did he just say that Kelsey Trainer, my mate ew, is the rare and very powerful, black wolf that only comes every few hundred years?! What the fuck?!  

'Yes I did just tell you that. Are you still going to reject her..? If you do I will not talk to you until I'm with her' Did my wolf just blackmail me!? 'Again, yes I did just blackmail you'

'Stop listening in on my thoughts' I yell at my wolf. 'Did you really just tell the wolf in your mind, to stop listening to what you are thinking in your mind? Do you even realize how utterly stupid you just sounded?!' I stayed silent  

'So are you going to reject her and break our mates heart, the very mate that used to save your fucking ass when you came home late, well that was before you and every body else started ruining her life after she did appositely nothing?'

'Yes of course I'm going to reject her, she would never be able to handle my pack of the pack and shes a fucking ugly piece of scum and I would never be seen with her!'

Kelsey's Pov. 

I shifted into my wolf running from school and when I got home no one was their so I raced up to my room, packed everything that I would want or need for the next while. I figured I should leave a note so I sat down at my desk and took out two pieces of paper and a pen, I wrote on the first;

Dear Mom, Dad and Travis,

I'm leaving, if you even want to know why, It's because I found my Mate but I know hes going to reject me and I don't want to hae to face the pain it will cause me if you care of seeing him with other woman. I'm sorry for wasting your time in reading this, but I just wanted to explain why I left, I may be back and if I an it would be in a year.

I folded it neatly and set it clearly on my bed, then I started with the other one;

Dear Luke,

I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I am your mate, if I could change it, I would because I know that you would rather anyone but me as your mate and for that I'm sorry and because I don't want to get my heart broken every time your with another woman as you so often are, I'm leaving and rejecting you. I, Kelsey Alexandra Trainer reject you, Luke Andrew Daniels, as my mate.
