Chapter 18

I have found a beautiful red dress. It a strapless corset dress and the skirt goes above my knee. I twirled around in the mirror. My hair was done so was my make up. All that was left was my heels. My nude colored strappy heels. I sat on the edge of the bed and slipped them on. I stood up and walked downstairs. Caroline was here. She was sitting on the floor playing with Annamarie. They looked up when they saw me.

"Ooh sexy mama." Caroline joked. I laughed. Annamarie stood up and walked over to me.

"Mama." She held up her arms for me to grab her.

"Are you going to be a good girl for Aunt Caroline?" She nodd her head and smiled. I walked into the kitchen.

"Okay Caroline all her food and snacks are on the second shelf so is her formula. Her sippy cups are in here." I open the cabinet up. "You have everyones number of course. Her she is." I handed her over about the time the doorbell rang. I went to open it. Elijah was standing there looking nice in a tux.

"You look so dashing." I smirked at him.

"And you look beautiful." I blushed a little. "Shall we?" He held his arm out for me and I gladly took it.

As we arrived at the party everyone was having a good time. I went to find Elena. She was off to the side talking to Stefan. It was intense whatever they were talking about. I walked closer so I could hear.

"I have to Elena."

"No you don't Stefan. Hes his own man and doesnt need you to keep up with him."

"You don't understand. Hes all the family I have left. I need to go see if hes okay. I need to do this for me not him." They were talking about Damon. I walked up to them.

"Why? Is he okay?" He looked up at me.

"I haven't heard from him in a couple of days. Im going to go check and see if hes okay."

"Why wouldn't he be?" He didn't look at me. "Stefan? Whats going on?"

"He's gone off the deep end." I nod my head. I don't know how to respond to that. I turned and walked away from them. I went outside for air.

"Love is the damndest thing." Elijah walked up beside me. I looked over at him. "I was in love once well honestly still am." I smiled. I knew what I had to do. I had to go save Damon. Save him from himself. I leaned up and kissed Elijahs cheek and walked to find Stefan and Elena. They were almost to his car.

"Lets go." They turned to look at me.

"What?" Elena was baffled

"Lets go rescue Damon."

"We have school and you have Annamarie. We cant just jump up and go." Elena said.

"Were vamps Elena we can go to school whenever. And what about Annamarie. We take her with us."

"I agree with Stephanie."

"Stefan!" Elena turned to him and stared. "Fine lets go. We'll leave tonight."

"Great we'll take my SUV!" We loaded up in stefans car. He dropped us off and then he went to his house to pack.

I walked in to find Annamarie asleep in her crib and Caroline watching tv. I offered some money but she declined. I ran upstairs to pack a bag for Annamarie and me.

"Elena text Jermey and tell him we going out of town and to stay at a friends house!" I turned back to packing.

We set the bags by the door. Elena went into the kitchen as i was looking at our stuff.

"Okay I got plenty of diapers and wipes for her. Clothes shoes. Tolietres. Anything else?"

"Yes snacks for the human." Elena walked in with a bag full of baby snacks and her formula and water. I smiled at her. Stefan open the door and helped tote the bags out to the vehicle. I ran upstairs and gently grabbed Anna.

Thank goodness she didn't wake up as I tote her and buckled her up. We loaded up and drove off. Stefan sat up front so he could tell me where to go.

"Road trip: Rescue mission Edition!" Elena and I screamed.
