As Amanda walked down the corridors of The Next Step dance studio she couldn't hide the smile that grew on her face. She had just returned from Sweeden for an exchange program for internationals and although she had learned a lot from being there and having a lot of fun she was relieved to finally be back. All of the dancers here were her family and she had missed them terribly. Especially him. Max.
Amanda and Max had always had a close relationship ever since they both were dancers at Elite. That was the hardest thing for her when she decided to join The Next step, she had to leave Max so she was obviously overjoyed when he joined the internationals team. Amanda has always liked Max as more than a friend so that's why it hurt her so much when he took her spot in the trio with Thalia and Giselle but she understood why he did it. She just wasn't good enough.
Amanda walked towards the double doors that led into Studio A. She took a deep breath before opening them and being met face to face with her team.
"Surprise!" They all exclaimed. She was bombarded with all her team mates running towards her crushing her in tight hugs that she struggled to breathe but she didn't mind she was happy to finally be home.
When she was finally released she looked around Studio A. It looked incredible. Amanda couldn't believe that they did all this just for her. There was only one problem. Max wasn't there.
After getting herself a drink Amanda went to sit down at a table next to one of her best friends Giselle.
"So how was Sweden?" Giselle asked her. Amanda tried to tell Giselle about everything she did in Sweden but all she could think about was Max and how worried she was that he wasn't there.
Giselle left not long after to go and dance with Theo. Amanda couldn't help but smile. She knew that Giselle liked him and by the looks of it he liked her back.
Amanda sat there alone for a while just watching all of the happy couples slow dancing and having fun and here she was sitting all alone not talking to anyone.
She was about to go and get another drink when she felt a warm muscular hand on her shoulder. She turned her head slightly and was met face to face with Max.
"Max!" Amanda exclaimed. She immediately jumped out of her chair and threw her arms around his neck as he wrapped his tightly around her waist.
"I've missed you so much." Max told her still keeping her in his tight grip.
"I've missed you too." Amanda replied. She eventually let go of him after a while. She stared deep into his chocolaty brown eyes which caused her legs to shake as if they were going to give way from underneath her at any second. Seeing him right now made Amanda realized just how much she had actually missed him.
Max just stood there staring at the beauty that was in front of him. He couldn't believe that she was finally back. Amanda was Max's best friend and he cared for her a great deal more than he did for anyone. He began having these feelings for her a while ago but he tried to forget them because he didn't want to ruin their friendship but recently he's been tired of always having to push them away.
He stared deep into her eyes and began to get lost in them once again.
When Max finally snapped back to reality he decided to do something that he's never had the courage to do before.
"Would you like to dance?" He finally asked Amanda.
"I'd love to." She replied taking his hand that he was holding out for her and dragged him to the centre of the dance floor.
Amanda wrapped her arms around Max's neck as he wrapped his tightly around her waist. They began moving as one to the music that playing over the speakers. Amanda took a deep breath in as she rested her head on his shoulder and took in his scent that she had dearly missed.
She smiled one more time before closing her eyes and getting lost in a world of her own. A world for Amanda and Max together.
