The teacher announced that she was going to give out another test that my class and I did a few days ago. It was mentioned that only one student got full marks as the yet was extremely difficult, but I thought it was a piece of cake.

The person who got full marks had to be me! When she called out my name I walked up to the teacher, beaming with happiness.

As I took my paper, she encouraged, "You're almost there, Yanagi-san."

To my utmost horror, the score written in red wasn't a hundred! It was just a mere 98! It wasn't me this time? I stared at my paper, face clearly written in terror. Speechless, I wondered who was the person who got full marks.

Out of the blue, I heard squeals from my right side.

"Wow, Kujou got a 100 marks!"

I whipped my head as fast as lightning and stared at Kujou in disbelief. I couldn't believe my ears and thought I was hearing things! Everyone was squealing over her marks and kept praising her, even though she said it was no big deal.

I gulped.

"Fall in! Now 50 meters sprint test will begin. Everybody line up!" instructed the gym teacher.

I should calm down. That must just be a coincidence. How could I fall behind that not catching girl?!

All I had to do was focus. The number one was definitely me! The teacher shouted 'go'! and the students bolted as fast as their legs could carry them. As usual, I dashed as fast as I could to the finishing line.

Panting excessively, I clutched my knees and caught my breath.

"Amazing! Yanagi ran faster than before! He completed the test in 7.8 seconds!" exclaimed one of my fans.

That was as easy as 123, I thought to myself arrogantly. But I wasn't proud for long when I heard another student praising Kujou. "Cool! Kujou can run in 7.4 seconds! That's faster than Yanagi!"

Wh-what? My hands turned colder and clammier by the minute. Again, a crowd of students gathered around the boring and gloomy girl. It was unbelievable someone like that could run faster than me!

"No big deal," she murmured again.

Knitting my brows, my eyes gave her an icy glare.

How... How could this happen! I urged myself that this was just all a coincidence. It's just all a mere coincidence!
