Chapter 2:
Chris pov.
We were getting close to the meeting point and I could hear voices sort of. One sounded a bit further away to me so I'm guessing it was through a cellphone. I stopped and turned to Lex. "Hang back a little bit please?" I asked of her. She nodded and planted herself right where she was. I walked a bit further and dound Zather a few feet past the treeline. Actually this was the pathway we took when we got separated. I shuddered remembering what my mind just would not let me forget. His back was to me and the moonlight bounced off his golden hair. He was still on the phone but he had to know I was there. "A little ways up is where they snatched me from your side ya know?" I questioned out loud. He hung up his phone and pocketed it before turning around to face me with a surprised look. "You were taken?" He asked me. I nodded slightly. His piercing green eyes staring into my soul, making me feel very vulnerable. I wouldn't look away from him. He thought for a moment, going over that day in his head I'm sure. I saw as realization dawned on him. "Why didn't you call out to me?" He asked with caution. "Why did you call me here?" I deflected. I watched his brows furrow in slight frustration at me questioning him. He must not have been used to it from his own pack. I rolled my eyes, go figure golden boy wouldn't have a pack that challenged him like mine did with me. It was to make us stronger. I can't believe I used to think he was stronger than me. "I'm giving you the time of night to talk to me now. Take it or leave it." He finally answered. I growled at him. "Oh so you think we're just going to sit and talk and be dandy afterwards huh? Why now? Why not then? Why not any fucking day in between then and now? Or did I have to nearly kill you before you finally thought that maybe, just maybe I didn't actually betray you?" I spat at him. He made me angry, very angry. Draco wasn't here to stop me, and Lexie wasn't strong enough, I could kill him if we weren't careful. "It's not that Chris." I cut him off. "Only my friends and family call me Chris, it's Christopher to you." I said coldly. "Will you just talk to me?" He then pleaded. I crossed my arms and looked away from him. "They had me pinned down. Three of them, huge men, one had his hand around my throat. I struggled, and the more I struggled, the more pressure he put on my throat. I nearly passed out trying to wiggle my way out of their grasps. So excuse me if I couldn't just call out to you. I would never betray you like that. The fact that you could even think such a vile thing means you were never really my friend. So what, did daddy put you up to befriending the rival packs son? Because mine sure as hell didn't." I said.
He stood there and looked at the ground. However his hands were balled at his sides. He was mad at least, that much I could tell. "That woman told me you'd left me there, that you weren't my friend and never cared. She told me you wanted me out of the way and that you wanted to take my pack from me." He said between his teeth. "Oh so we both got played. Again, how could you ever think I'd do such a thing to you?" I asked feeling more than pissed that he thought so little of me back then. "They threatened to hurt everyone I loved if I didn't behave. The first person I thought about was you!" I shouted. His head snapped up and he looked shocked. "She hurt me anyways." He told me with a fire in his eyes. "I heard you screaming. I was scared that they were killing you. When they let me go I ran to get my father to come help but by the time I got back, you were gone." I told him.
I watched as a multitude of emotions passed over his face. "She broke most of my bones, telling me she'd be back for me at a later date." He told me. "What's her name?" I asked him. He shook his head. "She never told me." He answered. "I'm going to find her and kill her." I said after a few moments of silence between us. "No she's too powerful." He tried. I just shook my head. "That woman caused me hell, I will kill her." I told him again. "It's your funeral." He warned. "You really do underestimate just how strong I actually am. It would do you some good to remember how I nearly killed you in school earlier. With just a slight fraction of my actual strength." I shot back. He balled his fists tighter. "Stop treating me as if I'm beneath you. I am your equal, and eventually your ally, you'd really create an enemy out of me?" He questioned. I shrugged. "I'm not really worried about the golden boy." I nonchalantly spoke. "I'm trying to make up with you damn it!" He shouted at me.
