2: Dates and Visits

"Order up!" I yell. I ring the bell twice. I wipe the sweat from my brow.

Gabby strolls in, smirking at me. "Hey, did you catch herpes yet?" She sneers.

"No," I smile. "Did you?" My smile turns into a frown. "Order up."

She scoffs, grabbing the platter.

"Hey." Thomas says, grinning at me. He was so cute.

"Hi." I grab a cloth and start cleaning my pan. "What's up?"

"I'm here for our date." Thomas says.

Shoot! I totally forgot! Thomas noticed my look. "Forgot?" He sighs. I nod apologetically. Thomas runs his hands through his gorgeous hair.

"Can we make a deal?" I pleaded. I push my glasses up, for they had slided down to my nose.

"Yeah, I guess."

"You give me, I don't know..." I tap my chin.

He crosses his arms and smiles at me.

"...an hour to freshen up and get dressed, and then we go on our date."

"Okay, but I have to move reservations."

"Aww, poor you!" I mock, sticking my lip out.

After Thomas drops me off, I run up to my house. I stroll down the hallway, to my closet. I pick out my favorite aqua dress. I had bought it on an auction years back. I think I was thirteen.

I shower quickly, and comb my hair back. I tie it back into a French braid, and secure it with a butterfly pin.

I slip the dress on, and put my favorite platinum heels on.

I say hi to McKeyla, who lives in the apartment next to me. She looks upset. "Are you okay?" I hug her.

"Yeah, it's just Owen." She sighs. "He was acting shady today. Said he had 'family issues'."

I hear a car horn think twice. I wink at her, and she gestures for me to go.

Bryden

"Bryden Bandweth. Visitor." Officer Kelin tells me.

I nod, getting up and out of the cell.

I walk to the visiting room. I immediately notice my little girl, Brianna. I had her while I was in here. When I just got here.

"Mommy!" She yells. "Brianna! I missed you so much, baby!"

"Hey." I look up to see him.

"Owen. What are you doing here?" I growl at him.

"I wanted to see you and Brianna. I have a girl now. I'm not interested in you anymore, so you can forget it." Owen says.

"Who is she?"

"Oh," he chuckled softly. "Wouldn't you like to know?"

"Yeah, I would..." I say, standing up.

"Don't fight." Brianna begs. I sit down. The last thing I would want to do was upset Brianna.

Then he left. Just walked out.

Quinn Jade came by a few hours later, to collect Brianna.

For some reason, tears streamed down my face when she left.

I crumpled to the floor, regretting the day I ever killed Camryn Coyle.
