The Next Day

The next morning Connie woke up wondering where she was. It wasn't her room, and it was extremely posh. She thought back to what happened last night, the games, the drinking, the kissing, the hotel, the sex.
Jacob.
She rolled over to find him lying flat out on his stomach. She took the opportunity to wake him up so she moved closer to him and started to kiss his neck.
"Mmm good morning baby" he moaned but didn't open his eyes.
"Good morning sleepy head, it's time to get up. You have work today" she replied.
"Nooo I'm not going in" he groaned.
"You have to, come on, or I'll pour water on you" she laughed.
Jacob sat up almost instantly, "ok I'm up, I need coffee. And wow this is a nice hotel" he said.

Connie giggled then picked up the phone and rang room service, ordering two coffees and Jacon some sausage, bacon and egg for breakfast.
They then got ready and made their way to the ED, which was a ten minute walk since they could not drive home last night because they had been drinking so had found the nearest hotel.

The new couple entered hand in hand and said their good mornings before going to Connie's office.
"As nice as it is to have you in here Jacob, can I ask why?" she said.
"My shift doesn't start for another twenty minutes and I'm bored so I thought I would hang out with my favourite woman, now where is Zoe?" he replied with a laugh but he stopped when Connie punched him in the arm.
"I have paperwork to do, so I won't be much fun" she told him but Jacob didn't care. He came behind her and started kissing the back of her neck.
"Jacob really I have work to do" she said but he wrapped his arms around her from behind.
"Fine I suppose it can wait" she said then she stood from her chair.

The two sat down on her couch and she cuddled up to him with her legs across his but they were interrupted by a knock at the door. They didn't move from the position they were in because Connie assumed it was someone that worked in the ED and since they all knew about them she just said "come in."
Instead of a member of her staff, Henrik Hansen walked into her office.
"Well isn't this cute, I just came to tell you that you are needed up on Darwin today and that you will need to take one of your nurses with you, although I see you won't have a problem deciding who" he said.
"Err Mr Hansen" Connie started but he cut her off.
"Mrs Beauchamp if you are going to tell me that this is not what it looks like then don't bother. Congratulations." Hansen said before walking out.

Connie started to laugh, "come on, let's introduce you to my old cardio team" she said then climbed off him.
Connie and Jacob found Zoe to let her know she was in charge before they headed up to Darwin. They exited the lift and walked to the front desk where an HCA was sat.
"I'm looking for Jac Naylor" Connie said to the woman.
"Ms Naylor is busy at the moment. I can tell her you came by, what's your name?" the HCA replied without looking up from her computer.
Connie read her name badge, "Miss Effanga, I'm Mrs Beauchamp, clinical lead from the ED, I used to be a consultant here. I was personally requested here today by Mr Hansen, so if you won't get Jac for me then I shall get her myself" she said then she walked away with Jacob, ignoring Adele telling her to wait.

Connie knocked on Jac's office and Jonny opened the door. Jacob followed Connie in and they saw Jac sitting on the couch holding her rather large bump.
"Well congratulations Jac" Connie smiled at her.
"On?" she asked confused.
Jacob gave Connie a strange look as she started laughing. "Err I think she meant the baby" Jacob said awkwardly.
"Oh yeah another one of them, sorry who are you?" Jac asked.
"Senior staff nurse Jacob Masters, nice to meet you" he replied but was shocked when Jac let out a scream.
"Sorry did I forget to mention that I'm in labour? No locoms available, no agency nurses either and with Elliot away Connie you were the only option and I need a nurse to stand in for Jonny. My procedures are all listed and Ms Effanga should be able to help you with everything you need" Jac said when she was finished.
"Oh wow, well good luck, oh Mo that girl out there, she your sister?" Connie said getting a nod from Mo.
"Right any chance she could be more polite?" She said causing Jacob to smirk.
"I'll have a word" Mo replied before she left the office.

Jac and Jonny left the office for maternity then Connie sat down at Jac's desk, "well it's good to be back, I'm just not sure how used to arrogant cocky nurses they are up here, we will soon find out though" she said to Jacob.
