This is an idea I've had in my mind for a while so please just read it, love it, hate it, rate it, I don't care, but enjoy and let me know what you think in the comments. :)

Waking up with the exageratedly loud alarm clock on the Iphone is never a good way to start the day. Why the hell do I keep seeting that damn thing? Oh right, school starts today. FML.

"Samantha! Come down, breakfast is ready!"

"Ugh, I'm coming, mom!" I got out of bed a little dizzy, about to dread the day ahead of me.

"You're gonna be late!"

Normally school wasn't such a big deal. I got around. I wasn't exactly somebody, but I had friends that wanted to hang out with me on weekends, that is, until my parents decided it was a good idea to go away for the summer to Alaska. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice trip, but I'm the kind of person that can't handle the extreme cold. I had to stay indoors for the majority of the trip. That wasn't the problem though. You see, I couldn't keep contact with anyone for the 2 months I was up there and a lot of drama, parties, hang outs had to happen whithout me. I've been downgrated to "the one that wasn't there".

"Are you sure you wanna wear that old Bon Jovi shirt, honey? I can get you something from my closet. I have the perfect outfit to match your green eyes."

My mother always worried about the impression I made in school, whether it was popularity wise or fashion wise. I was wearing an old shirt my dad had gotten me when I was thirteen, it still fit, and I liked it.

"No thanks mom, I feel comfortable in this so this is what I'm wearing."

"Fine, I'm not gonna argue with you." she rolled her eyes.

"That's a relief." I said under my breath. "Listen mom, I'm gonna drive to school today."

"Ugh, I still can't believe your grandfather bought you that car, you're 17, you're old enough to choose  a new car, not that old thing."

"I'm just happy I have one. Besides that was his old car, it means something to him." I paused.

My mom is a little to materialist for my taste. But I love her nontheless. "I'll see you tonight, mom."

I took the long way to drive to school. The less time I'd be there, the better. As I parked, I noticed most of my "friends" standing outside. Guess the bell hasn't ringed yet. I got out with the hope that I could just pass by unoticed.

"Sam! Over here!" I heard my friend Maya say.

I had no choice. I went over there expecting most of them to ignore me.

Bryan stood up and said. "Where have you been all summer, Sam? We've been calling you like crazy!"

So maybe I was wrong. Maybe they did all miss me, and I was the jerk for not calling.

"I was in Alaska for the summer! Couldn't get much signal."

They laughed and "Oh'd" in understanding.

"Okay then loser, come on, let's walk to class together. I hear there's a new teacher and he's pretty hot." Maya said. She always spoke her mind. One of the many good things I liked about her.

The bell rang as we walked in the classroom, but the teacher wasn't there yet. This usually means a lot of talking.

"So why didn't you call back? I don't buy that no signal thing for a second." Maya was right. I just couldn't get up the courage to hear all the fun things they were doing while I was freezing to death.
