Inside Jenny's mind (Short story 1 of the Jennifer Green Series)

The sun's powerful rays peeping through the huge magenta curtains drapped on the wall-length windows of the magnificent chambers of Princess Jennifer fell upon the beautiful vanity mirror adorned with crystals that she got from Prince Ian, her fiance, for her birthday, and was reflected onto her face, causing her to stir gently out of her peaceful sleep. She struggled to open her eyes and squinted against the rather too bright sunlight and rolled over the bed to face the other side. Opening her eyes, she jumped with a start when she saw a gorgeous young man sleeping beside her. He was so handsome it was hard to believe. And, wait a minute, didn't he look just like Alex Pettyfer? Why, of course! Because it WAS him!

"Oh, my gosh! Oh, my gosh I've cheated on Ian!!!" was the first thing that came to her mind. She sat up and rested her head on her elbow while admiring the sexy lips that belonged to Alex and sighed. Her kinky part-Afro hair seemed tame, weirdly, perfectly falling off her caramel face in straight locks. Even the zit she had the day before was gone!

"And not just with any randomer, but with Alex!!!" she squealed, causing Alex to stir up and look at her with bewilderment. After registering who she was, a smile broke onto his face and he moved in to kiss her. She didn't move away, but parted her lips slightly, welcoming with great anticipation the kiss of all kisses. How did she get so lucky, right?!

"Morning, darling." he said sweetly. Jenny froze. He had called her 'darling'! How long had they been having this little 'affair'?

"Morning... Alex Pettyfer???" she said hesitantly. Alex laughed and grinned to show a perfect set of teeth.

"I know you're obsessed with my brother, but please stop calling me that. Even though I have to admit we do look alike because we're twins, but he's the prodigal son. Boy done run off to do acting or some rubbish of that sort. Well, I had to do what a man has to do. Take over the heir-ship!"

"Oh, Prince Ian! Why, yes of course you're not Alex Pettyfer! You're Ian Pettyfer! Duhh!" she faked a laugh while rolling her eyes. Awkward. She got out of bed and found the ready-made breakfast tray next to her bed. A tray filled with croissants, fried eggs, bacon, sausage, orange juice, tea, coffee and coco pops, leaving her drooling like a hyena. She took in the scent of the rich food before she sat up to start eating. Gosh, with the way she loved her food, she was enjoying her new-found regal pampering rather passionately.

"Aren't you going to shower first?" said this Alex look-alike who had turned out to be her fiance. At 18, she was too young to marry, but then again, Romeo and Juliet were in their teens when they married!

"Oh, nah! I'll eat first." She took the fork and aimed for the sausage.

"You sure? We could even shower together" he winked suggestively. Jenny gulped and her mouth went completely dry.

She found herself following him to the bathroom, walking like a zombie gone back to life, drooling like a pig at the nice, toned butt of Alex, no scratch that, IAN Pettyfer. Damn it, they looked so alike! Once inside, she stood there watching his every move, from when he took off his pyjamas - (my, oh my he had nice abs!) and when he pulled down his boxers, all the way down to the floor. He cheekily turned around with a wicked grin on his face and Jenny just had to gasp!

"Excuse me, Jenny Green, but do you mind not disrupting my lesson?" the stout, short Mrs Colby said sternly, before proceeding to read an extract from Romeo and Juliet to a reluctant and blatantly bored class of 18 year-olds. Not for the first time, Jenny had managed to draw unnecessary attention to herself, and as if that wasn't bad enough, she had to go on and flush a bright red like a lobster! She covered her cheeks with her hand and guess what? The zit was very much still there like it was there to stay!

She sighed.

"Welcome to MY world" she rolled her eyes as the bell went to highlight the end of the day
